Weekly Waffle #413 – Josef Bugman the Coach marks a New Era of Dwarf Excellence

For this week’s weekly waffle I have stayed with the sporting theme but switched from the world of Guild Ball into the world of Blood Bowl. Following on from really enjoying painting up the Halflings and the Referee’s I’ve switched by attention to the Dwarfs. I’ve come up with a new team name and a back story for them that will share in a future update but for this week I’m going to start off with the big guns. Or more accurately one half of the same big gun.
So what am I waffling on about. Well it’s probably the most famous character in the any of the Warhammer worlds, but essentially the old world and that is Josef Bugman. I have had sever hang overs after spending many a night in his famous bar at the Nottingham HQ. Usually after loosing miserably at whatever game I was playing. But that aside we have a legendary character and very nice mini. Or more accurately it’s a couple of minis because he comes has a Coach, which we are going to explore here and as a Star Player, which we will explore when I get back off my holiday.
When it came to closures I like the turquoise blue that is on the box art for the dwarves so I decide to not really change things up. I’m not sure if I’ve go the colours exactly the same but I like them an I more importantly I think it’s something I can replicate across a whole team. I’ve kept it simple with the turquoise for his shirt and armour and a light brown or buff colour for his trousers. Noting fancy but I think it work quite well.
My mojo was overflowing painting this guy and I love how he has turned out. It was just so much brighter than the morticians I’ve been working on for so long now. I also used a new painting handle and it has been an absolute joy. I’ll go into a lot more detail on that in later post but needless to say I think I have found an absolute keeper.
I wanted to steer away from using any metallics but I haven’t really managed to achieve a proper non metallic metal effect. But it’s a step in the right direction and I like how it looks and think it will look good on the table top. But enough of me waffling on about him what do you think.

Or more specifically how is he going to fit into my dwarf team, Gritty Grumps. Which I think anyone who knows me will think is a rather fitting name.
