Bicentenary edition of the weekly waffle today and to be honest with you when I started this I didn’t even think that I would still be turning out content, albeit in limited volume, nearly four years later. First of all this weeks weekly waffle I want to apologise for missing last week’s update. I’d spent most of the week decorating so I didn’t have much of an update anyway but when I came to update things on Friday evening I had some prompts for server updates so just went ahead and started them. The long and short of that was that these updates were still running on Saturday morning and by the time things got completed I’d just run out of oomph to get anything done. Confederate – Corporal Franklyn (Sidekick) – Painting Guide
Corporal Franklyn is in the concept art book so that’s what I used as reference for my paint scheme. Having already adopted the same approach for Captain Williams, my thinking being that it becomes something of a standard for anyone who is using a light support type weapon. The first step was to prime the model and I did this using Vallejo Black Surface Primer (74.602) for a first coat. I then went back over the model using Vallejo Grey Surface Primer (74.601) at about a forty five degree angle to start to build up some shadow and highlight. Well, game night for this weeks weekly waffle actually turned into drink tea and talk about painting night although I have lined up a game of Wild West Exodus with Al for next week. Which will probably end in a humiliating defeat but it’s a chance to give my confederates a run out. One of the highlights of the week for me was trip down to Warhammer World with Al on Wednesday. I didn’t have any images to work with for Captain Williams as he’s not in the concept art book and I haven’t seen any painted images of him on the net. Stonewall Jackson is one of the Bosses of the Confederate Rebellion and like most of the colour schemes of late the inspiration for this one came from the Concept Art book. So for this week’s weekly waffle I’m going to venture into the divisive topic that is Age of Sigmar. Now just to start things off I have never played fantasy so when Games Workshop effectively finished off that world and changed things about it had no impact on me. In fact I found it quite interesting to just sit back and listen to some of the passionate debates that were taking place. I’ll start off this weeks weekly waffle with a bit of site admin now that I have figured out why the Ligtbox function isn’t working. I did an update mid with week some details but you should find things are working here. No game night this week so a little bit more time to try and get some work done on the civilians for MERCS ready to carry on our game next week.
