Carnevale
Carnevale is a table top game from TT Combat all about telling a story within the weird world of Venice under the Rent in the Sky
Weekly Waffle #423 – The Wayfinder, Guiding the Patricians’ Privateers Through the Murky Canals
6th June 2026 The Mojo It’s been another busy week for this week’s Weekly Waffle. I’ve messed up a bit and didn’t update the post properly but I got their in the end. Switching things up has been a challenge but I’ve enjoyed the change so I hope you enjoy the update. On The Work Bench Welcome back to the workbench, folks. Grab a brew, sit back, and let’s talk about a model that trades the elaborate silks and feathers of the standard Patrician nobility for something far more practical, namely, a very solid map, a telescope, and the uncanny ability to make sure your gang’s shooting phase absolutely tears…
Wayfinder – Charting the Rent in the Sky, A Deep Dive into the Wayfinder
6th June 2026 There is a moment of profound, cold clarity that hits every tabletop gamer when they first step away from flat battlefields and look down upon the shifting, iridescent waters of Venice in Carnevale. In most skirmish games, your primary concerns are linear: Where is the cover? Can my model line up a charge? But when you set foot in La Serenissima, the world fractures into three dimensions of absolute, beautiful chaos. Suddenly, you aren’t just looking forward; you are looking up at three story brick palazzos, calculating the trajectory of a desperate leap across a ten foot wide canal, and praying that your model doesn’t miss the…
The Prince of Thieves – The Rooftop Royalty of the Guild
Ah, welcome back, dear reader, to the shimmering, shadow drenched streets of Venice! Today, we’re scaling the heights of the Serenissima, moving away from the docks and the dark alleys to find someone who treats the entire city like his personal playground. We are diving back into the magnificent world of Carnevale, and today’s spotlight shines brightly on the most charismatic rogue in the Guild faction: the Prince of Thieves. Picture this: A moonlit night over the San Marco district. A group of heavily armed Patrician guards are patrolling a stone bridge, their armour clanking with every step. Suddenly, a flash of red silk and the glint of a rapier…
Weekly Waffle #302
Weekly Waffle #302 15th October 2022 This week in the painting world I’ve been carrying on with what I am now realising is something of an obsession with Carevale. What started out as picking up a starter box has morphed into three boxes and I think four blisters. But what we have here represents everything I have at the moment. I’ve been sticking with the same approach of using my new found slap chop method to get them table top ready. What I’ve tried to do this week though is to get some more pictures at different stages of the process. Starting off with getting them primed and dry brushed…
Weekly Waffle #301
Weekly Waffle #301 8th October 2022 Welcome back and the first thing I’m going to say about this weeks waffle is that it is dedicated to Slap Chop. I talked about coming across this technique last week and shared some pictures of the Rialto Assassin I had used it on and was waxing lyrical about how quickly, for me, I was able to paint it. The only fly in the ointment was that I couldn’t find the bases I had already painted up. Now if you follow me on Twitter or Instagram you will know that I managed to find the bases and have shared some completed pictures. But if…
Weekly Waffle #300
Weekly Waffle #300 1st October 2022 I’ve not had a massive amount of hobby time this week but I have been doing quite a bit of travel and that has given me some time to reflect on what has happened in my hobby life since I started doing the blog. Now before you panic and run a mile I’m not going to be all doom and gloom just a look back over the past seven years, yes seven years in which a lot has changed. So if I was to rate my enthusiasm and ability in the hobby now compared to where it was when I started I would have…
Weekly Waffle #299
Weekly Waffle #299 24th September 2022 I’m going to kick things off this week with a full on homage to the Waffle. I was watching Saturday Kitchen last week and they had Ricard Osmond on as the guest. He was talking about how he has stopped doing a lot of his presenting work to focus on his writing. One of the things he was saying to the Otho on the show was that if you were to dedicate an hour a day to writing then after a year you would be a writer. You may not be successful but you would be a writer. This approach obviously applies to anything…
Weekly Waffle #298
This will be three hundredth edition of the waffle so need to big it up a bit. Highlight some of the highs and lows over the years.
