Weekly Waffle

The heart of TerminatorTids. A recurring series of hobby updates, "what's on the desk" showcases, and honest reflections on the week's progress in the wargaming world.

  • Two painted dwarf miniatures on grassy bases, name plaques read 'Barundin Bitterbeam' and 'Hargin Hardstare'.

Weekly Waffle #417 – Blood Bowl’s Mohawked Missile of Mayhem

25th April 2026 The Mojo I’ve had another good week on the hobby front. Progress has been slow but steady and I’ve really enjoyed my hobby time. On a none hobby front I’m love bike racing, the pedal powered version. And this week they announced the Tour De France Feemi will be coming to the UK for a stage between Manchester and Sheffield. Both are cities I work in on a regular basis and the announcement was done right opposite our Manchester office. Which as something is a surprise. But a very nice one. On The Work Bench I’ve been cracking on with my blood bowl dwarves this week and…

  • Six painted dwarf miniatures in blue armor stand in a row on grassy bases, with name banners reading Underbraid, Grim Tornjaw, Uli Underfoot, Trogan Alebrew, Train Thrice-Cursed, and Barik Farblast visible on the bases.

Weekly Waffle #416 – The Grumpy, Unmovable Meatloaf

18th April 2026 The Mojo: Welcome back to this week’s weekly waffle and amongst this weeks updates I am also trying out a little bit of a change to the flow of waffle. Trying to add a little bit of structure to help me keep things on track. But don’t worry it’s not a wholesale change to the content. Just trying to break things down into sections so that it’s easier to read, easier to find things, and easier for me not to forget things. It’s been a good week this week even though I haven’t actually got a lot completed. Lots of travel for work has given me some…

Weekly Waffle #415 – Hopefully not the Emperors new clothes.

Weekly Waffle #415 – Hopefully not the Emperors new cloths. 11th April 2026 Good morning and welcome to the new look Weekly Waffle. I don’t have much of a hobby update for you this week, although I have got some painting time in. Instead this week the update is going to be all about the new look for the site. Something I’ve spent far too much time working on. But to be fair most of that time has been spent getting things wrong and having to correct them. For anyone who actually knows what they are doing there has probably only been a mornings worth of work. But I’m not…

Weekly Waffle #407 –  The Year of the Brush: A 2025 Weekly Waffle Retrospective

Weekly Waffle #407 –  The Year of the Brush: A 2025 Weekly Waffle Retrospective 10th January 2026 Welcome to 2026 and for this week’s TerminatorTids weekly waffle I am going to start the year off with a wrap up of 2025. It’s been a year of soaring highs, questionable paint choices, and a fair bit of “waffling” about everything from the price of plastic to the best way to paint a bird of prey. If 2024 was about finding the mojo, 2025 was the year I allowed it to trickle out across the pitch, the tabletop, and even the skatepark. Pull up a chair, grab a brew, and let’s dive…

  • Guild Ball, Morticians, Casket

Weekly Waffle #406 –   It’s Always Casket Time

Weekly Waffle #406 –   It’s Always Casket Time 20th December 2025 For this week’s weekly waffle I’ve stayed with the morticians, which I have to say even for a grinch like me feels a little odd with Christmas right around the corner. It’s been a very odd week with lots of last minute things. Be that work things that absolutely have to done this week or the world will end. Despite the fact no one is going to be there to do anything with it. Or those last minute things that have to be done for Christmas. Although I think we are only feeding a large regiment and a…

  • Guild Ball Falconers Frelsi, Weekly Waffle

Weekly Waffle #394 –  Winged Terror of the Pitch

Weekly Waffle #394 –  Winged Terror of the Pitch 27th September 2025 This week’s weekly waffle sees me back to the normal Saturday schedule and I’m picking up where I left off. With more Guild Ball. The mojo is high at the moment and that is making it really fun to both paint and to come up with these background pieces as well. I’ve been working on Frelsi with the idea being to use the same colours as I’ve used for the team. Or more accurately make it look like the team colours are based on Frelsi. It’s not the best rendition of feathers you will ever see but I’m…

  • Guild Ball Falconers, Minerva

Weekly Waffle #393 – The Falconer Who Sees Too Much

Weekly Waffle #393 – The Falconer Who Sees Too Much 6th September 2025 I’ve been continuing my Guild Ball odyssey for this week’s weekly waffle. Although in terms of the colour palette things have changed a little this week. Gone is the turquoise and in is more a linen buff colour. I’m not sure why things have changed. Or what I really mean by that is I’m not sure why the art work I have been using as a guide changed things up for Minerva. I did think about going with turquoise, because I like it and I feel I have a good grasp on painting it. At least in…
