Weekly Waffle #379 – Brushing Up
Weekly Waffle #379 – Brushing Up For this week’s Weekly Waffle I have changed up the format a little. Basically this week has been carnage at work and it feels like I have spent half of my life on a train. And for those of you who are familiar with trains in the UK, or at least in the North of the UK, that is not a pleasant experience. They are noisy, hot and you never know quite when they are going to arrive. All that being said they do give you lots of time, usually because they are late, to think about content. So because the hobby time this…
Weekly Waffle #324 – Is it me or is it cold
Weekly Waffle #324 – Is it me or is it cold 9th March 2024 In this week’s weekly waffle my planning head has ruling the roost and I have been making sure I have everything I need for Adepticon. I do a lot of project work for a living, and I love a list. So, I’ve had a long list of things that I need to make sure I have for our trip. This cover everything from clothing to toiletries to hobby supplies. What will be going in my checked luggage will be in my carry-on bag. I know for a lot of people this would really boring, or they…
Weekly Waffle #294
Weekly Waffle #294 23rd April 2022 It was Easter weekend last week and for those of us in the UK that meant a four day weekend. I would like to say that it was spend being really productive and getting in loads of hobby time, but the reality was that both me and the misses were full of a cold again and spent most of the time in the house feeling sorry for ourselves. I was feeling that bad that I even managed to burn a pizza I had mad on Saturday. All in all it was just one of those weeks where nothing seemed to go as you would…
Weekly Waffle #293
9th April 2022 Well once again I have missed a couple of updates but I’m putting them both down to Adepticon. The first was the Saturday of Adepticon and I had been doing daily updates so I don’t feel to bad about that one. Last weeks was missing because I came back with the conference lurgy and just didn’t have the energy to do an update. I’m still not that well this week but I’m not missing another update so I’m going to fight my way through and give you an update this week. I haven’t really done much in the way of hobby since I’v e been back, because…

Weekly Waffle #282
This week has been another where I’ve managed to get in reasonable amount of hobby time and I’ve been enjoying it while the mojo is still in full flow. I’ll get to what I’ve actually been working on a bit later in the post but I’m going to start with an idea that has been bouncing around inside my head and I think it could make an interesting project. Ever since I painted Silencer Bane I’ve been thinking about that near future look that the mini has and I went off on something of a tangent thinking about how something like that would come about. The technology itself isn’t that…
Weekly Waffle #281
Another week and the ball is still rolling in the right direction, the mojo is still there and I’m enjoying my hobby time. Granted I’m not churning out a mass of miniatures but I’m enjoying doing something a little bit different and I’m really happy with what I’m producing. I think the key for me at the moment is that I’m content when things don’t turn our quite how I would like them to. By that I mean that in each of the Nuts Planet minis I’ve finished to date there are things with each of them that I know could be better. But rather than fixating on them and…
Weekly Waffle #280
The January mojo is still flowing and I’ve had a good week of hobby. Not put a massive amount of time in but I think I’ve made good use of the time I’ve had. This won’t work for everyone but what I’ve been doing is when the misses wants to watch one of her programs on TV I say I’ll get out of her way and go and do some hobby. Which means that I’m giving myself lots of mini deadlines and being very focused and I’m getting things done. Not very quickly but I’m getting them done which I’m enjoying because I can see some progress with each session.…
