Weekly Waffle #342 – Great balls of fear

This week’s weekly waffle hasn’t seen a return to Necromunda. The albatross is still looming over me but I just can’t find the mojo to go back to it at the moment. It hasn’t been helped by me being smothered in a summer cold at the moment. So all in all this week has not been a good one on either the hobby front or from a personal point of view. But I’m being a trooper and making sure I don’t miss an update. Although it will be a bit shorter than normal. There are only so many words you type when every time you look down at your screen your nose starts running.
So if there is no Necromunda on the desk what have I got for you. Well that’s quite easy because it’s more of what you got last week. Orks. These are always going to be my default projects because they are just so much fun. I’ve had a look through my Puppets War box of bits for something nice and easy to paint and went with some Plaque Bots. Now I have today I don’t really know where these would fit into an army. Attack Squigs is the only thing I can think of but not having a copy of the current Codex I can’t be sure about that.
What I can say is that they have been a lot of fun to paint and regardless of what they are intended to be I need to find a way of fitting them into an army. They are really quite simple but great and fun looking all at the same time. Although I do think there are some ways they could be made to look even greater. Maybe ass some exhausts to ramp up the mechanical feel.
On the painting front I’ve just gone with my standard red with some blue and yellow highlights. Nothing fancy because I was just concentrating on having some content for this week. But having said that what do you think of them.
I’m going to wrap things up here because my head is hurting and my nose is running . I’m hoping I can shake this cold over the weekend and get back on track for next week. I do have work lined up so it’s not like I’ve run out of things to paint, or even that I’ve lost my mojo. Both are still there and the content will be back to normal as soon as I’m feeling a little bit better. So until next week I hope you all remain in good health and enjoy whatever you have planed.
