Registration

Registration

This is the bit I’ve been looking forward to the least, or what I should really be saying is that I’ve been looking forward to this like a hole in the head. Being English and the fact that queuing is a national pastime the queue for registration alway seems to be the most unorganised queue in the history of queues and this year was no exception. I really do appreciate that they need a system that can deal its hundreds of participants with different types of tickets to sort through and most of the work being done by volunteers. They do things as quickly as possible. Add to that the need to check vaccine status, the staff are doing a great job, It just feels like carnage every time.

Having said that I have spent an hour or so queuing and have now picked up my ticket. So in theory next time I’m expecting to find myself in any sort of sizeable queue will be at the airport on the way home.

Now at the end of all of that I have event pass, which this year you need even if you are just spectating, which is something to do with the covid regulations. And of course there is the swag bag which I have to say for me this year isn’t a thing of joy. There are lots of very nice things in there it’s just that for me they aren’t things I think I will use from a gaming or hobby perspective. I’ll do a full run down later in the week, as there is beer to be consumed right now.

I have my first seminar tomorrow morning at 08:30 and then I’ll have some time to have a good look round. I’ll also try and get some images uploaded to give you all a feel for what is happening over here.
