Weekly Waffle #265

Another turbulent week but I do have an update for you again and because of the issues last week I will have a few extra pictures for you. The trukk still isn’t quite finished but it’s nearly there and the site seems to be behaving itself at the moment. Although I have had to spend quite a bit of time trying to solve some issue with the back end and I’ve also had to flatten and rebuild my laptop this week as well.

On the IT front I have had to make several updates to the site and each one seems to bring with it a host of issues. It’s still onto where it needs to be but it’s a lot more stable than it has been in a while. I have a few outstanding tickets that I’m hoping will get things up to date and make the whole process of doing my updates a lot smoother. The galleries are one outstanding area that I need to address but don’t have a solution for at the moment. The software I have been using is now out of support so I have no way of updating them and I’m running across more and more errors. So I think the only way to resolve this is to switch and new gallery engine. ‘m currently working out which one offers the best value so you can expect to see some changes there over the next few weeks. I’ve also been having a lot of problems with my laptop that I use for these updates so in the end I’ve bitten the bullet, backed up all my files and flattened the thing. That has meant quite a bit of this week has been spent getting the thing back up and running, trying to remember where I’ve stored serial numbers and the like but all the key things are now back up and running. I always find it amazing when you do something like this just how much stuff you thought was essential you really don’t need. I had even got to the point where I was considering a new laptop but now things seem be running nice and smoothly again so I’ve saved myself a few quid there.

On the hobby front I said last week that the build was complete on the trukk but that I couldn’t upload the pictures so here they are.

With the build complete it was into the paint shop to get the thing ready for the road. I’ve gone with the same paint scheme as the other but this time I’ve given it a yellow go faster stripe. The main reason for this, other than to give it a slightly different astatic, is that it can be carried over onto the troops so it’s easy to see which mob belongs to which trukk. Assuming I ever actually get round to painting up any troops for them. Anyway the painting is going well and I think if I hadn’t had the IT issues it would have been complete. As it is it just needs a few of the details finishing before I can weather it up and seal it. So not a great deal to do and I’m confident that it will be completed for next week.

That’s it for this week. Plans for the week ahead are to finish off the trukk which I think is achievable then to look at a new project. I have one more trukk that I want to build, I also what to look at building a Mek Gun to go alongside the trukks and I also want to have a dabble into Warcry again. So lots to be thinking about and I will just have to see how the mood takes me as the week progresses. Until then keep safe and hope to see you all again next week.
