Things have calmed down a bit this week and I’ve had what I think is quite a good hobby week which I hope in turn give you a good weekly waffle. Although when it came to actually writing up what I’d been up to my fingers have not been dancing over the keyboard. It’s been like typing on a keyboard covered in molasses but the brush has flowed a little easier. I’ve been concentrating on the Warlord Titan with the legs now on the base and I think they are looking ok. They still need the weathering and they will also end up with a mat finish for most of the lets to try and give them the feel have having walked through a hive, knocking buildings down as it goes. Most the work on the legs was finished last week but I’ve kept going back and finding bits of detail that I wanted to pick out and a few bits that I had simply missed. Putting the legs on the base seems to give the limited progress a bit of substance.
I’ve also been doing a bit of airbrushing and trying to get the final turquoise colour for the upper body and shoulder guards. They don’t look that much different but once I get the metal sections painted up and go over the trim everything should be ok. It’s just at that in-between stage where it just doesn’t look right.
To go along with the upper body I’ve been working on one of the two heads I have for this guy. I’ve previously done a red one so this one is going to be the same turquoise as the main armour. The main colour is done and I’ve made a start on the trim so it shouldn’t be long to before this bit is finished.
The other bit I’ve been working on are the armour plates that fit on the outside of the main weapons. I’ve gone with a red and turquoise for the different sections just because I think it adds a bit more interest. It was also really easy to do as the trim sections everything up nicely so no free hand to worry about this this section.
Now that I’ve got the ball rolling with this build again I need to try and keep up the effort. The weather here today is a bit grim so I think the rest of the day will be spent trying to crack on with this guy. I’ll put the Tour de France coverage on and then just see how I get on. I have a few goals in mind for this week but I’m giving up on writing them down as I’ve just failed over the last few week and so I’m going free style for this week and I’ll see how it turns out.
