Ok I’m making it official, I’ve lost my mojo and it’s impacting more that just the weekly waffle. I just don’t know where it is has gone at the moment. I’ve probably spent more time staring blankly at projects this week than I have with brush in hand. I’ve not lost my love for the hobby or anything like that I just can’t seem to get that desire to paint to make it as far as actually moving my paint brush. I can’t think of anything in particular that is acting as a blocker it’s like you are walking up a really steep hill and you just can’t seem to get over the crest. So what have I been doing to try and break this fugue.
Well we had another D&D session last Sunday and I really enjoyed that. It was something of weird session as we have spent so long trying to track down Mallick and stop him. Now that we have achieved that we at something of lost end as to what to do. We all agreed that we needed to head back to the pyramids to make sure the ritual had actually stopped only be confronted by a horde of orcs. Hop wanted to fight them but the rest of us thought there were too many. The upshot of that was that he snuck off and started raining fireballs down on them. Which did have the effect of making the retreat so we could investigate in peace. The rest of the session was spent investigating one of the other pyramids so we now have one left to explore before deciding what to do next. All in all it was a really good session and we have another lined up for tonight so we may get round to deciding what we are going to do next.
I missed game night this week as I couldn’t get home from work in time but I did manage to get a little bit of hobby time in. In an attempt to kick start my mojo I picked up the Thundrik’s Profiteers for Underworlds to have something a bit different to paint. I’ve decided that I’m only going to use the box art as guide and to really go with my own colour scheme. My thinking being this will get back into painting as I’m not trying to copy something I’ve done before, or in this case what someone else has done before.
I’ve not made a great deal of progress but I have managed to get the base colours down and I’m happy with how they are progressing. Still need a lot of work but I’ve a picture of how I want them to look so it’s just a case of getting that idea out of my head and onto the model. Easier said than done but I’m only looking to get them to a standard where I’m happy to field them in a game so it shouldn’t take me too long to get them done.
That’s it for this week and with the rest of the day being taken up with an airport run and then a D&D session this evening I’m not going to get any hobby done today. But I’ve nothing planned for tomorrow so I’m thinking of getting some time in with Audible and a paint brush to crack on the profiteers. So until next week I hope you all have a great time and I’ll try and get something done for next time.
