An interesting if not massively productive week this week. No game night so that freed up Tuesday night and I foolishly went to the Gym, which meant I did three days on the bounce this week and I really felt that by Thursday. So, Thursday night was D&D night and after the precarious position we left things in last week I really thought I would need a new character this week, so much so that I rolled one up just in case.
As it turned out my character survived but Tom’s wasn’t so fortunate. If you remember from last week I had locked Tom in the monastery vault and wouldn’t let him out unless the Abbot was there to supervise things. Turns out that the Abbot was fully aware of Tom’s intensions and had orchestrated thing to make sure he got trapped in the vault to contain the evil inside of him. That made me feel a little better about things but still on my quest we have lost two characters. For a while even though I had survived I thought I wasn’t going to be allowed to leave the monastery but turned out to be more a test of character and it was back to the city for all of us.
During the night the city was attacked by some magical beast that comes every couple of months, slaughters a number of citizens and then disappears into the mist. No one has ever been able to kill it and after a few drinks it turned out there is a legend that states the only way to kill it is with a magical weapon called the scythe of Adun. Many have searched for it but non has found and most have simply disappeared. A possible new quest I hear you say, only thing is I know exactly where it was about a month ago, because I traded it for few healing potions, but I’m not about to tell anyone about that. We will just have to wait until the next session to decide what we do next.
On the hobby front I’ve been making slow progress with the Death Wing but progress non the less. I just can’t seem to get the cloaks to feel right, so I keep revisiting them and not really getting anywhere. The other details are starting to take shape, and everything is moving int the right direction so nothing for me to worry about at the moment.
I mentioned last week that I had got the Gene Stealer Cult for my Kill Team pick and following that I had searched the web for some models and found a good deal on them on e-Bay. Basically, their half of the box set which I ordered straight away and was hoping they would be here by now. But as is often the case with these sorts of things they haven’t turned up yet. Now in fairness to the seller they did get in touch and told me there would be a delay and offered a full refund so I’ve no complaints with them. It’s just me be impatient. After my initial disappointment I’ve found a colour scheme I like the look of, so I want to keep the mojo flowing.
And that’s it for this week. I’m going to keep plodding away at the Death Wing and hope that green just clicks at some point but other than that it’s going to be a quite weekend. Hope you all have a good one and I’ll hopefully catch you all again next week.
