The Road to Adepticon 2018 #3

This is going to be the final road to Adepticon update before the event because at the time this update should go live all things being well we will be at Heathrow waiting for the big silver bird to fly us over the pond to America. Ok then it might not be silver and it might not be bird but we should all be booked in and ready for off. Just a case of waiting around the flight, sitting avoiding boredom for a few hours, I think about eight, then a wait to clear customs and a train into Chicago. But it will all be worth it for a Geadarnos pizza.

So I’ve finally managed to get my Jynz model painted up that will be my entry for Crystal brush which is both a relief and terrifying at the same time. A relief because I’ve got it finished and I’m happy with it but also terrifying because I am actually going submit it as an entry in a competition where it will be totally and utterly outclassed. But this has all been about having a go and with a bit of look I may get some feedback.

My bags have been packed, unpacked, checked and then packed again to make sure I don’t forget anything, which will probably guarantee that I do forget something. But I just need to keep to the mantra of money, tickets, passport and as long as I have them thing will be ok, forget them and things will get very interesting very quickly and I don’t want things to get interesting.

Gaming wise I’ve decided to take some X-Wing as there will always be a chance of picking up a few games. Keeping the model count down I’ve gone for my trusty YT-2400 Outrider and a couple of B-Wings for a bit of change.

Next up we have 750 points of Dystopian wars. Pete is also taking some so I’ve pulled my finger out and got these based ahead of packing them up. I’d promised myself no silly last minute painting but that’s what I ended up doing getting these based. But I think it was worth the effort. I’ve gone for the mix of heavy battleship, three gunships, four heavy frigates and then last but not least five corvettes.

Then there a three cars for some games of Gas Lands. Al has been in touch with some people on Facebook already who are up for some games so I’m looking forward to that. I haven’t really spent enough time on these so I’ve ended up just bolting on a couple of 40k weapons that I’m not completely happy with but they will have to do.

Then finally I’ve gone for some Wild West Exodus. I’ve not seen anything about any games but with War Cradle having a stall there I though it was worth taking them just in case there’s a chance of picking up some games.

I’ve got a few books loaded on my tablet to read on the flight along with a few new tunes to break up the boredom. I’ve also made sure I have a couple of games in my carry-on luggage to help break the monotony of waiting around in the airport. Which brings me to the end of this last pre-event update. If all goes well when this goes live we will be at the airport waiting to set off. I’ve packed my laptop so with a bit of look I’ll give you a few updates whilst I’m there but if not I will make sure I have loads of stuff for you once I get back.
