Well this week I’ve been transitioning two sites that are quite close to home so I thought I might be able to sneak a game in on Tuesday. Only to have my hopes dashed because Al has been away on his jollies. Enjoying the sun and condemning me to another game less week in the grey and rainy north west of England. Now I’ve played the gilt trip card I’ll get on with this week’s update.
Despite being close to home I’ve not had much hobby time so I’ve get a few more of my Orks for you in the form of some mechanical creations. I’ve dragged these out because I’ve been looking at the new Primas Dreadnaught and can’t get past the idea of looting one and having a grot crew on the inside that you can see when you open up the swively front of the model. Throw in two close combat arms and a couple of big shootas on the shoulders along with lots of orky gubins and jobs a good en. So with the mechanical walker them in mind here’s a Forgeworld Mecha Dread with a (arm name) and (arm name). It’s only been used in a couple of Apocalypse games but my understanding is that the Forge World models can be used in normal games so it may get more use in games now.
Also on the walker fronts we have an alternative to the standard dreadnought in the form of a Kromlech dreadnought. I’ve had this for quite some time now so again I might start to get back more action out of this. Especially now that vehicles have this wound like stat line that I think will make them a bit more survivable in a game. It might even be time to think about building a whole walker contingent for an army. But that might me just getting carried away at the idea of lots of conversions.
Then we get on to some my favourite models. Although it’s fair to say that in game terms they I’ve not really had much look with them as they don’t seem to survive the first round of shooting. But they look cool so that’s all the excuse I need to use them. I’d like to get a few more and I’ve actually drawn up some plans to make my own modular versions so I may have to get the plasticard out and turn the plans into models. Anyway the object of this passion are my Grto Tanks. You just have to love the idea of grots rolling into battle in their own armour. Not clinging to side of some boyz contraption and fixing it when it inevitably goes wrong.
So that’s it for this week. More travel next week before a week off but I’ve got plans to do something a bit different this week. I’ve picked up some cartoon inspiered models and I’m going to do my best to have something fresh for next week. It might not be a lot but it will be new. Until ten have a good weekend.
