I didn’t do an update last week because a good friend of mine who I’ve known since we were kids passed away and I just didn’t feel that producing an update was somehow appropriate. But the whole experience has made me think that it’s important to enjoy what we have and for me that includes my hobby which has been something of an escape for me over the last couple of weeks. Just a way to escape for a while.
So what have I been up to? Well first off I have been getting busy with the green stuff and making some base inserts. I’ve made a batch for my mate Al to use with some minis he got as part of a kickstarter. Whilst I was making these I decided to get ahead of the curve and make up a few more for the Batman minis I’m working on and for some I’m planning to get in the next few weeks.
As I hinted at above I’ve been working on a few pieces to expand my Batman collection. The first of these are some objective markers in the form of Knight Models blister and some Joker gas cylinders.
Next up are a couple of characters. The first of these is Alfred who came as the special model with the rule book. I’ve only got the base colours down on this at the moment and I’m still trying to psyche myself up to have a go at painting pin stripes on his trousers.
And at the same time I’ve been working on The Riddler. I think this is a really striking model that has some real impact with its vivid green colour scheme. This is a lot further along than Alfred and I think another couple of hours work should see it finished.
The last pieces I have been working on are some Blackgate prisoners to add to my pool of henchmen. It was the bright orange jumpsuits that attracted me to these guys and the fact that they can work with just about any bad guy crew. I thought I had these guys worked out but Knight models have just release a second box of Blackgate prisoners and they have Blackgate written down the left leg so may have to try and adopt this.
And that’s it for this week.
