Weekly Waffle #4

Well this week on the site front I’ve been playing around with a few changes to the Galleries. I’m still not sure if I’m happy with them yet so I’ll probably carry on messing for a while yet until I settle on something I like.

On the hobby front the manic pace of the first couple of updates has started to come down to a more sustainable pace. I have finished off ‘Boiler’ for the Butchers Guild from Guild Ball and as I’ve said in a couple of updates I’m really looking forward to the rest of these models turning up. I think I have a good handle on how I am going to paint each guild now which is a relief because I always find picking a colour scheme is one of the hardest parts of any project.

I’ve also been working on some more Infinity with a War Correspondent and a couple of remotes. The war correspondent in particular is a classic example of a model that I picked because I like how it looks as opposed to how it will work in a game. As far as I can work out at the moment it has no real function other than looking good and I love that about it. I have mounted it on a larger base than standard just to show it off a bit more.

The remotes are bit more practical than the war correspondent in that they can fulfil a number of roles and can also add some heavy firepower with their heavy machine gun options. But I still think they look really nice. Colour wise I’ve kept the same style as the rest of my Haqqislam force with the desert feel of brown and green. Although with these I have tried to do a lot more with the airbrush to try and give a smother finish to the larger areas. Not sure if it’s really worked but you have try these things. I’ve also taken a little bit of extra time putting these together so that the weapon and equipment options are magnetised. This just makes them a bit more versatile and saves a bit of money because I don’t need a separate model for each version.

Keeping with the practical theme for next week I’m going to be working on a box of Assassin Muyibs. These will add some more light infantry options to my Haqqislam force. And that’s it for this week.
