    Weekly Waffle #163

It’s been a mixed bunch for this week’s weekly waffle starting with a bit of retail therapy. For our D&D night Corey had a folding dice tray with poppers on the corner so that it can folded flat when not in use. So nothing fancy but I really liked it and decided to get one for myself. The problem I had was whether to go with a plain one or a pictured one and to make sure that whatever I got didn’t clash with my dice. In the end I decided to go for a plain black one as I thought that would work best with the new bone coloured…

    Weekly Waffle #162

This week’s weekly waffle I have to say that I have been a lazy so and so. I’ve not had lots of things on and work hasn’t been particularly busy I’ve just plain and simple been lazy. I think some of it has come from the fact that I’ve been struggling on my painting projects and keep sitting down to do something but not really having a clue how to do it. So I look at it, listen to some music and look at it some more. Then I’m surprised when an hour has gone by and nothing has changed at which point I have given up. On a more…

    Weekly Waffle #161

It’s been a bit of mixed bag this week with me being back on the road again for a few days so no game night this week for this weeks weekly waffle. Although we did get another D&D session in last Saturday. The numbers were a bit depleted so it ended up being a bit of side adventure which was a lot of fun. You know your party is in trouble though when they refer to my character, a Halfling monk and the fighting tank of the party. Needless to say we tried to avoid as much trouble as we could and made it into a very good fact finding…

    Weekly Waffle #160

Something of a mixed week this week for the weekly waffle with a few things getting in the way of hobby time. First of these is something that I think is worth sharing but has nothing really to do with hobby time. That’s been the release of Altered Carbon on Netflix I’ve been a fan of Richard Morgan for some time now so I was a bit sceptical about how this would turn out. But I’m glad to say that whilst they have played around with a few key elements in relation to the book they have done a really good job of staying true to the feel of the…

    Weekly Waffle #159

Well I managed to make it through January on something of a high but things have slowed down somewhat this week with no gaming at all. Game night was as Al was working and D&D got moved from Friday to today. Now that doesn’t mean I’ve lost any enthusiasm for the year, it’s just that things haven’t lined up for this weeks weekly waffle to get the gaming in. Having said that it means that my D&D character will survive for at least one more night and I do have a plan for tonight. Granted it’s a very foolish plan and my lovable little halfing monk will die horribly but…

The Road to Adepticon 2018 #2

It’s been a while since I did the last update so I thought it was time I brought you up to date on where we are with this year’s trip. I covered off the fact that we had the hotel booked event tickets secured in the last update. Since then Darren has been a star and booked the flights so we will be flying out on Monday the 19th so we can have a couple of days in Chicago ahead of the event. And then flying home on 26th so that we get to enjoy everything Adepticon has to offer this year. Unlike last time we went in order for…

    Weekly Waffle #158 – D&D Halfling Monk

This weeks weekly waffle I have a treble hit of gaming fun, I know that’s a bit crazy me but that’s just how the week panned out. Game night on Tuesday saw us have an introduction to Gas Lands. Al picked this up and as I mentioned last week it looked like a really fun game. None of us have yet done any conversion work and to be honest I’ve only picked up one car so far. Having said that you don’t actually need a converted car to play the game, you just need the sheet that goes along with your car where you write down what upgrades you have…

    Weekly Waffle #157

I’m looking to try and keep the positive vibes that I started the year with rolling, at least until the end of the month and I’ve a few things to cover this weeks weekly waffle. First up was game night on Tuesday where we didn’t actually have a game but we are all now hooked on the idea of a new game without actually having played it yet. What is this new game I can hear you asking and more to the point how can we get involved, because you will want too. The game in Question is called ‘Gas Lands’ by Mike Hutchinson and it’s published by Osprey Games.…

    Weekly Waffle #156

I think I’m starting the year on a run of weekly waffles, if you can call two a roll. Following on from a really enjoyable night of D&D I decided that I couldn’t rely on someone else to bring along a players handbook and that I needed to get my own copy. Which is where my series of dilemmas started. A quick search of the internet made it clear that there were any number of ways and formats that I could obtain an electronic copy of the handbook, but none of these were official. Looking to see if there was an official way to get hold of copy lead to…

    Weekly Waffle #155

With this week’s weekly waffle we are into yet another new year and it’s that time of year when we all get carried away and come up with lots of resolutions to do wondrous things. Now I don’t know about you but I do this every year and it lasts for a for a little while and then things go back to normal, so I’m going to try and do things a bit differently this year. I’m not going to set any grand goals for this year but I am going to try and break everything I do down into little chunks and to make sure I keep things varied…
