    Weekly Waffle #137

This weeks weekly waffle #Site Title #Post Title #Site Title #Post Title #Site Title #Post Title has been the first ‘normal’ week I’ve had a long time. Or at least as normal gets for me. Tuesday so the return of game night and me and Pete squared off across the ocean in a game of Dystopian Wars Fleet Action. This was a chance for me to give the French a run out now that they are all painted and ready to go. It also made a change for Pete as he didn’t have to face my Russian Gunships and he really likes Russian Gunships. To be fair it was something…

    Weekly Waffle #136

This has been the first weekly waffle in quite a long time that I haven’t had to travel. In fact I’ve actually had the week off work and I think I can safely say I have been the laziest man on earth. My plan for the week has been to do as little as possible and recharge my batteries in the process. I’ve spent some time catching up on a couple of box sets and I’ve even just sat there and listened to a couple of audio books. All in all it’s been a nice relaxing week. On the hobby front I’ve not done a great deal. I’ve cleaned up…

  • Weekly Waffle #135

This has been the last weekly waffle of frantic travel for a while so I should get a bit of time in for some games and more hobby over the next few weeks, before round two kicks off. Even though I’ve been on the road this week I have managed to get a bit of stuff done and as I mentioned last week it’s been a bit of departure for me. I was watching the weekender on Beasts of War a while ago now when these models were mentioned and I thought it would be nice to pick them up and have a go at painting them. The style is…

    Weekly Waffle #134

Well for this weeks weekly waffle I’ve been transitioning two sites that are quite close to home so I thought I might be able to sneak a game in on Tuesday. Only to have my hopes dashed because Al has been away on his jollies. Enjoying the sun and condemning me to another game less week in the grey and rainy north west of England. Now I’ve played the gilt trip card I’ll get on with this week’s update. Despite being close to home I’ve not had much hobby time so I’ve get a few more of my Orks for you in the form of some mechanical creations. I’ve dragged…

  • Weekly Waffle #133

For his weeks weekly waffle I’ve been in deepest darkest Wales trying to avoid being eaten by dragons so I’ve not had any time to get any fresh hobby in so I’ve gone with another retrospective edition of the Waffle. I had someone asking this week if I had considered selling any of my Orks as they haven’t seen the light of day in quite some time. But I do still love them so there is no way I am going to part with them but it did give me a good excuse to share a few more of the them with you. Particularly I wanted to share some of…

  • Weekly Waffle #132

This weeks weekly waffle has been marked with a mix of hobby success and monumental epic failure. I’ll star with the positive and leave you in suspense for the failure, which I hope means you’ll read all the way to the end. Now I’m working really hard to separate the two as rationally I know there is no connection but deep down there is that that little voice saying you know why this happened and it’s all your own fault, you just had get the French fleet. But I’m not listening to that voice and I’m going to expand my French fleet so there. So the success was the completion…

  • Weekly Waffle #131

For a change this week’s weekly waffle I feel like I’ve had a really productive hobby week. I missed out a bit last Sunday because Al and Pete kidnapped me and forced me to go to the put with them so Sunday turned into a very lazy day. To make up for that I took my French fleet away with me with the intention of getting as much of the basing done as possible. It’s quite surprising what you can get done in a hotel room with just a few key bits of kit. In this case it was some paint to give the base colour for the water and…

  • Weekly Waffle #130

It’s been a bit of mixed up week this week for the weekly waffle and I’ve put the white dwarf to one side and instead gone down a dystopian route. To be precise I’ve gone down a French dystopian route with my French fleet arriving. Now I’ve found that it’s not easy to get any painting done in a hotel room cleaning and building up models is another thing altogether. That meant that I manged to get everything prepped and ready for painting whilst I was away. Then with two nights at home I’ve had a bit of time to get the airbrush out to make a really good start…

  • Weekly Waffle #129

This weeks weekly waffle is back to a more normal update this with a bit of hobby time spent working on the 40th anniversary model of the White Dwarf himself.  With it being a single model it’s meant I could take a few bits and pieces way with me and get some work done whilst on the road. I’ve managed to get quite a bit done this way but I’ve still not got it finished. It’s nice and characterful and I have manged to get quite a bit done and will crack on with it again next week.         One thing that took me by surprise was the fact that…

    Weekly Waffle #128

So with me being away for the last two weeks now I’ve not had any time for any hobby at all this week but I still wanted to bring you what I hope is a bit of light hearted reading on this Saturdays weekly waffle. My solution has been to take a few pictures of some of my 40k orks and have a bit of nostalgia trip but to also explain how these creations came into being. As I’ve said before it’s the fluff of 40k that has always attracted me and it’s that fluff that is responsible for the odd ball creations. But before I get to the models…
