Weekly Waffle #169
Well Adepticon feels like a dim and distant memory now and the world has slotted everything back into place as if the trip never actually happened. So that’s the post-holiday blues out of the way and everything is back to normal. Although the mojo is still up and I’m working on getting some hobby time in every day, even if it’s only ten minutes. I read somewhere that one of the blockers for getting things done is actually starting them so by planning to do something, no matter how small, each day gets you in the mind set to get things done. No idea if it will continue but it’s…
Weekly Waffle #168
For this week’s weekly waffle I’m hoping that some sort of normal service will be restored. As promised last week I managed to drag my thoughts together and get the review / update of Adepticon published this week so I hope that gave you taste of what it was like. And if there any of you out there planning your own trip I would highly recommend it, I’m hoping to be back again in 2020 so I may see you there. So what have I got for you this week? With this being a waffle I’ll start with a bit filler and that has been that I have finally gotten…
Adepticon 2018 Review
Well then as promised this weekly waffle is going to be a lookback at our trip to Adepticon this year but my idea is to give you a run down on the whole trip from start to finish. Things started with a touch of excitement when I got up on the Sunday morning to find a layer of snow everywhere as some doubt as to whether we would be able to even make it to London. As it was after a coach trip, three trains and then bus ride we made it to the hotel for the night which was in sight of Heathrow which made me feel a lot…
Weekly Waffle #167
So I’ve been back form Adeptecon for a few days now and having booked the rest of the week off I haven’t needed to go back into work yet. Which means I’ve had lots of time to put together a packed update for this week’s weekly waffle. Except what I’ve actually done is lazed around all week and done nothing, or next to nothing. I will get round to getting more images uploaded and into a proper post event post but I’ve just not done it yet. What I do want to say is that it was a really good event and I for one will be going back, probably…
Adepticon Update #2
Friday: Adepticon Day 2 For me most of the day was taken up with seminars. An early start gave me three and half hours in a class run by Caleb Wessenback from CK Studios all about painting black and white. Quite a long course but it absolutely flow by. I’m gong to do more of in-depth update once I get back but the basics of it were all about understanding tonal values and how to apply them on the mini which once we got started really made sense and I picked the basics up without much problem. Now it’s just a case of practice, practice, practice. No quick wins with…
Weekly Waffle #166
This weekend is Adepticon weekend and as I’m attending this year I don’t know if I will be able to provide you with your regular weekly waffle so I’ve planned ahead and have something a bit different for this week. This doesn’t mean that you won’t also get some additional Adepticon updates because I do plan to try and bring you some form of update but it will depend on how much fun I’m having. If the games are rolling and drink is flowing then you will have wait until I return for more content. But in the meantime I’m going to steal a line from Blue Peter and say…

The Road to Adepticon 2018 #3
This is going to be the final road to Adepticon update before the event because at the time this update should go live all things being well we will be at Heathrow waiting for the big silver bird to fly us over the pond to America. Ok then it might not be silver and it might not be bird but we should all be booked in and ready for off. Just a case of waiting around the flight, sitting avoiding boredom for a few hours, I think about eight, then a wait to clear customs and a train into Chicago. But it will all be worth it for a Geadarnos…
Weekly Waffle #165
No game night for this weeks weekly waffle which is happen as well as I’ve needed the time to sort out all the final bits and pieces ahead of next week’s little jaunt across the pond. Well to be precise it actually starts tomorrow but that was just so that we could save some money on the train fair. I think I’ve touched on this already but it was going to cost us nearly three hundred pounds for a train ticket to take us three hundred and fifty miles on a Monday morning. The same journey on the way home a week later but on a Tuesday afternoon is costing…
