• Weekly Waffle #59

Game night was back on again for this week’s weekly waffle and I actually get in a couple of games, or finished one and started another to be more precise. Tyler wanted to have a go a Firestorm Armada so I dug out the start scenarios and models so we could give it a go. The result, I got an absolute tubing. I managed to last a few rounds but once he brought his broadsides into range I had no chance. But it was fun having a go at something different and we are going to carry on over the next few weeks. The next game came as something of…

This week’s weekly waffle actually started on Sunday morning with a six way x-wing game with each of us having 50 points. I was unimaginative and took Outrider and ended up facing off against to Y-666’s from Pete and Corrie, Al had a single E-wing, Stanners had an IG-2000 and Mike had a pair of Y-wings. I had a really good day and managed to get the first kill after Pete had been shot up by everyone else, dashing in to take the glory. It didn’t last though as I took a bit of a beating but was still there at the end. We ran out time in the end…

Well I’ve still not managed to shake off the hobby blues although game night was back on for this week’s weekly waffle. Me and Al had arranged to have a game of Wild West Exodus but that went a bit astray. He’s got the rules through for the tournament he has entered at Adepticon so he wanted to play with these rules. Only problem was I didn’t’ have enough points, because I couldn’t use my hired hands. So after a lot of talking Pete turned up and we ended up playing ‘Get Bit!’. It’s really simple but really good fun. Essentially you are all pirates whose ship has sunk and…

  • Weekly Waffle #48

For this week’s weekly waffle we have been planning and at the weekend a few of us came up with a plan for next year. Nothing special just a way to try and get a few more games in. So we’ve decided that January is going to be Wild West Exodus month, followed by Malifaux in February and then something new for March with Frost Grave. As a bit of inspiration we’ve set up a bit of challenge to have crews painted for everything and to make sure we don’t slack off there is forfeit for anyone who doesn’t have their models ready. But I’ll go into a bit more…

    Weekly Waffle #41

So then, I feel another wandering weekly waffle coming on again this week with something of an eclectic mix for you this week. Game night again this week but unfortunately I missed it. Went out the car on Tuesday night only to find that the battery was dead and it wouldn’t start. Car hadn’t been used for a week so it was a bit of pain. Anyway I didn’t need it again until Friday so Dad to the rescue with some jump leads on Thursday night and things are working again. Top and bottom of it though is that I now don’t trust it to start when I need it…

  • Weekly Waffle #40

A bit of quite week for this week’s weekly waffle. No traveling for work which was a nice change and then no gaming club this week, so lots of time for hobby so that’s the only update for this week. I think that the mojo is starting to come back as I managed to get quite a lot of work done on the Masons. I know I said I was hoping to have them finished for today but I couldn’t quite manage that. But they aren’t far off. It’s just a case now of going over them and finishing off some the details and making sure I haven’t missed anything.…

  • Weekly Waffle #39

I think we’re in for another waffle heavy weekly waffle again this week. I don’t know what it is but I’m really struggling to find any motivation to actually get anything done at the moment. Don’t get me wrong I get myself all set up to do some painting, I know what I want to get done, I’ve got a few tunes on and I’m feeling good but I just can’t seem to move on from there. The dark nights don’t help but as I’ve said before this should be the best time to paint because there’s nothing else to do. And that’s another point, it’s not that I’m too…

  • Weekly Waffle #38

I managed to get some gaming in for this week’s weekly waffle. Well I say gaming I actually got a pasting but I’ll get onto that in a minute. Also introduced someone else to the joys of Guild Ball, had a trip to the sea side and got a bit more painting done. So gaming wise it was games night on Tuesday and I had a small game (I think about 60 points) of X wing. This gave me a chance to give my new YT-2400 a run around, and over a few asteroids. My mate Pete turned up for the fight with a Decimator so all things considered it…

  • Weekly Waffle #37

After last week’s weekly waffle bumper edition this week was always to going to be a challenge. There was no game night this so that rules out any gaming updates I might have been able to bring you. On top of that as I mentioned last week I’ve had to spend some time in Newcastle so that could have thrown a spanner in the works. However I’ve become something of an expert now at making the most of my time way, well when I can be bothered. And this week I’ve been bothered. So on the hobby front I’ve spent a couple nights in the hotel room, as opposed to…

  • Weekly Waffle #36

This week’s weekly waffle has continued the roller coaster of hobby ups and downs. At work on Tuesday morning to be told that I need to go to Newcastle for three days, nothing wrong with that but it puts a dent in my painting time. Not to mention that I would mean I would miss out on gaming night and a game of X-wing I had arranged with Pete. Well it keeps the bank manager at bay and at least I didn’t lose. But even though I’ve spent some time away I have managed to get some hobby time in although it has been very eclectic. First up I was…
