Weekly Waffle # 389 – Block Perch
Weekly Waffle # 389 – Block Perch 9th August 2025 This week for the Weekly Waffle I have a couple of updates for you. One I have pictures for and the other is all about the pictures that I already have on the site. So it’s been a busy week even if there isn’t a lot to show for it in terms of this update. So I’m going to start off with the work I’ve been doing in the background. When I switched hosting providers last year I started to put more effort into making the posts easier to find on the internet. The art of Search Engine Optimisation, or…
Weekly Waffle # 388 – Falcon Fulled Fury
A first look at the Falconers Guild Captain for Guild Ball.
Weekly Waffle #287
I’m going to start off this week with an apology for anyone who was hoping to see some Dystopian Wars minis with some paint on them. That was my plan for this week but things have taken a bit of swerve on the hobby front. I had been tidying up my workspace which doubles up as my workspace at the moment, but that resulted in me moving the Dystopian Wars box and uncovering some other prepped miniatures. That mixed in with me finally catching up on the Expanse has meant the Dystopian Wars minis haven’t been touch so I’m sorry for that but it does give you something to look…

No gaming for me for this weeks weekly waffle#Post Title | #Site Title #Post Title | #Site Title . Tuesday night is our usual gaming night and it just so happened to coincide with a day of strike action by Northern Rail on a day I needed to travel to Newcastle. Needless to say I never actually made it as far as Newcastle but still spent all day waiting for delayed replacement bus services or delayed replacement timetable trains. None of which were on time and most of which were actually cancelled. All of which meant that by the time I finally got home I just couldn’t be bothered moving. So…
Weekly Waffle #123
Well it’s been a really bad week this week for hobby this weeks weekly waffle. I’ve had family over from France so I’ve been playing nice and spending time with them, which in fairness has been nice and then away again all week. So the only thing I’ve really managed to get done this week is to green stuff some base inserts. I need these for the fishermen I’ve been working on and for a couple of other things that I’ve done but not got round to basing. But in keep with how manic things have been I’ve not even had time to take any pictures, not that green stuff…
Guild Ball – Mist Painting Guide
This is a painting guide for the new model for Mist that I picked up through the Locker Room as it had only previously been available as a prize at some Steam Forge events. For me the sculpt is really evocative and much more menacing than the previous version. With that in mind I wanted to move away from the mainly purple that I used on the original version and go with something a bit more natural. But I still wanted to keep some purple in there as that is the Union’s colour, or at least it is for me. I started off using the airbrush with Vallejo Black…
Weekly Waffle #84
Game night for this weeks weekly waffle was going to be more RECON. We’ve decided to give it a few more goes to see if we can get to grips with it. To help Al out I’ve spent a week looking through the rules and going back over our previous games to see what makes sense and what doesn’t. Unfortunately I’ve had something of a rubbish week this week and haven’t been sleeping well, so when I get home from work late and sat down with a brew to chill out before heading to Al’s disaster struck. I simply fell asleep and didn’t wake up until the early hours having…
Weekly Waffle #79
No game night for this week’s weekly waffle#Site Title #Post Title #Site Title #Post Title and with no overnight trips for work I’ve actually managed to crack on with a few different hobby projects this week. The plan of having a few different things on the go at the same time seems to have paid off this week. To start with I’ve been working on some terrain pieces for Guild Ball. Al picked these up from Solid Ground Studios and I volunteered to paint them up a few weeks ago. I cleaned them up and primed them straight away and then they sat there waiting for something to happen, mainly because I…
