Weekly Waffle #305
Weekly Waffle #305 31st December 2022 I’ve had another break but it’s not been because I haven’t been doing any hobby but more because I just haven’t made the effort to do the updates. This is partly Brandon Sandersons fault because I’ve been spending my time on the train, when I normally write my updates, catching up on his latest books. And it’s fair to say that I have been absolutly captivated. So if you want a good read and don’t mind loosing yourself and forgetting about everything else I would highly recommend checking him out. I’ve also been spending a lot of time working on the web site. Although…
Weekly Waffle #303
Weekly Waffle #303 22nd October 2022 Another week and another unit well underway. I had a desire to paint up a Wych squad for some odd reason but when I went into the GW store in Manchester they didn’t have one so after a quick gander around I picked up something else. And that something else was a box of Corsair’s for KillTeam. I just liked the look of them and as far as I’m aware they are just a stand alone unit so I’m not going to get caught up with some desire to paint a new army. I’ve used the same method as before but this time I’ve…
Weekly Waffle #302
Weekly Waffle #302 15th October 2022 This week in the painting world I’ve been carrying on with what I am now realising is something of an obsession with Carevale. What started out as picking up a starter box has morphed into three boxes and I think four blisters. But what we have here represents everything I have at the moment. I’ve been sticking with the same approach of using my new found slap chop method to get them table top ready. What I’ve tried to do this week though is to get some more pictures at different stages of the process. Starting off with getting them primed and dry brushed…
Weekly Waffle #301
Weekly Waffle #301 8th October 2022 Welcome back and the first thing I’m going to say about this weeks waffle is that it is dedicated to Slap Chop. I talked about coming across this technique last week and shared some pictures of the Rialto Assassin I had used it on and was waxing lyrical about how quickly, for me, I was able to paint it. The only fly in the ointment was that I couldn’t find the bases I had already painted up. Now if you follow me on Twitter or Instagram you will know that I managed to find the bases and have shared some completed pictures. But if…
Weekly Waffle #300
Weekly Waffle #300 1st October 2022 I’ve not had a massive amount of hobby time this week but I have been doing quite a bit of travel and that has given me some time to reflect on what has happened in my hobby life since I started doing the blog. Now before you panic and run a mile I’m not going to be all doom and gloom just a look back over the past seven years, yes seven years in which a lot has changed. So if I was to rate my enthusiasm and ability in the hobby now compared to where it was when I started I would have…
Weekly Waffle #299
Weekly Waffle #299 24th September 2022 I’m going to kick things off this week with a full on homage to the Waffle. I was watching Saturday Kitchen last week and they had Ricard Osmond on as the guest. He was talking about how he has stopped doing a lot of his presenting work to focus on his writing. One of the things he was saying to the Otho on the show was that if you were to dedicate an hour a day to writing then after a year you would be a writer. You may not be successful but you would be a writer. This approach obviously applies to anything…
Weekly Waffle #298
This will be three hundredth edition of the waffle so need to big it up a bit. Highlight some of the highs and lows over the years.
Weekly Waffle #297
Weekly Waffle #297 3rd September 2022 I know I said last week that I may not have an update every week but week two of the return does bring a new update. But just to manage expectations I really don’t think I will have an update next week because I’m away next week for a short break. Having said the I’ve not got a great deal done this week but I have got some hobby time in and I’ve been working on some Adeptus Mechanicus Skitarii Vanguard. These have been built up just as standard minis unlike the Rangers where I used the bodies from the ash waste nomads. The…

Weekly Waffle #295
Weekly Waffle #295 30th April 2022 This week I’ve mixed things up a bit with Hagal sitting on the desk and taking a bit of back seat, or really taking no part at all in this week’s activities. I’ve still got a cough that I can’t seem to shake at the moment but I’m not actually feeling to bad with it, it’s just really annoying. So to keep things positive I’ve switched things up and started work on the Warchanter Choir that I picked up from Artel Miniatures before my trip to the States. These are to go along with my fledgling Iyhanen force. I’ve touched on this before but…
