Weekly Waffle #158 – D&D Halfling Monk
This weeks weekly waffle I have a treble hit of gaming fun, I know that’s a bit crazy me but that’s just how the week panned out. Game night on Tuesday saw us have an introduction to Gas Lands. Al picked this up and as I mentioned last week it looked like a really fun game. None of us have yet done any conversion work and to be honest I’ve only picked up one car so far. Having said that you don’t actually need a converted car to play the game, you just need the sheet that goes along with your car where you write down what upgrades you have…
Weekly Waffle #157
I’m looking to try and keep the positive vibes that I started the year with rolling, at least until the end of the month and I’ve a few things to cover this weeks weekly waffle. First up was game night on Tuesday where we didn’t actually have a game but we are all now hooked on the idea of a new game without actually having played it yet. What is this new game I can hear you asking and more to the point how can we get involved, because you will want too. The game in Question is called ‘Gas Lands’ by Mike Hutchinson and it’s published by Osprey Games.…
Weekly Waffle #156
I think I’m starting the year on a run of weekly waffles, if you can call two a roll. Following on from a really enjoyable night of D&D I decided that I couldn’t rely on someone else to bring along a players handbook and that I needed to get my own copy. Which is where my series of dilemmas started. A quick search of the internet made it clear that there were any number of ways and formats that I could obtain an electronic copy of the handbook, but none of these were official. Looking to see if there was an official way to get hold of copy lead to…
Weekly Waffle #155
With this week’s weekly waffle we are into yet another new year and it’s that time of year when we all get carried away and come up with lots of resolutions to do wondrous things. Now I don’t know about you but I do this every year and it lasts for a for a little while and then things go back to normal, so I’m going to try and do things a bit differently this year. I’m not going to set any grand goals for this year but I am going to try and break everything I do down into little chunks and to make sure I keep things varied…
Weekly Waffle #154
Well then to round out the year I’ve got another weekly waffle lined up for you but first I have actually managed to get some hobby in this week. Granted it wasn’t as much as I would have liked but I’ve also had a few really lazy days binging on films and box sets so I’ve only got myself to blame. On the hobby front I was hoping to get Kyle the Red and White finished off for this week but I haven’t quite managed, a case of close but no cigar. There isn’t a great deal left to do so it will be finished by the end of the…
Weekly Waffle #153
Another frustrating weekly waffle. Not the best of ways to start a weekly update but I can’t think of any other way of putting it. Nothing major has gone wrong just lots of little niggling things that get in the way of doing something useful and enjoyable. I have managed to get the car fixed, or at least I think it’s fixed, so I’m mobile again. But then my being mobile clashed with Al working so no game night this week, although I will be catching up with him this weekend. All the Christmas shopping is now done and I only have a few more visits to make to drop…
Weekly Waffle #152
The plan for this weeks weekly waffle had been to get some gaming in on Tuesday night because for the first time in a long time I wasn’t away wit work. That didn’t quite pan out as my car hasn’t been used for some time and when I went to start it, it was just dead. So no gaming done and I’m going to have to figure out what’s wrong with it and try and get it fixed this weekend. For hobby this week I’ve put the grot bot build to one side and picked up a paint brush again. It’s been about six weeks since I last painted anything…
Weekly Waffle #151
I’ve been a bit more organised for this weeks weekly waffle and stolen a bit of time throughout the week to put this week’s update together. So this week’s update will be a proper waffle, and it’s quite a specific waffle. It’s loosely based around what happens to a game when someone else takes over the IP. I’m bringing this up because Warcradle studios now owns the IP for both Wild West Exodus and Dystopian wars, both games I own and really enjoy. They had already made some big changes to WWX but now that they have taken over Dystopian Wars they have announced that they are going to merge…
Weekly Waffle #150
I’d like to start this weeks weekly waffle by apologising for being a day late with waffle and whilst I’m begging for forgiveness I’ll throw in the fact that it’s not going to be a particularly epic event. There’s big story about me being a day late just the fact that I’ve been really busy and didn’t plan in enough time got the update done. On the plus side all the work and travel I’ve been putting in has meant that a project we received a gold award at a European awards ceremony this week. So with only one week of transition to go I’m hoping I will start to…
The Road to Adepticon 2018 #1
It’s probably a bit late to be starting this as I’ve mentioned a few times in the Weekly Waffle that a few of us are going to be returning to the good old US of A next year for Adepticon (2018). We were there are a couple of years ago for the 2016 even and really enjoyed ourselves. Now that we’ve had time to recover and save up a few pennies we are on our way back. Like last time my plan is to do a few articles that cover off some of the key milestones, that’s a bit of work creeping in, about our planning for next year’s trip.…
