• Adepticon Update #2

Friday: Adepticon Day 2 For me most of the day was taken up with seminars. An early start gave me three and half hours in a class run by Caleb Wessenback from CK Studios all about painting black and white. Quite a long course but it absolutely flow by. I’m gong to do more of in-depth update once I get back but the basics of it were all about understanding tonal values and how to apply them on the mini which once we got started really made sense and I picked the basics up without much problem. Now it’s just a case of practice, practice, practice. No quick wins with…

    Weekly Waffle #166

This weekend is Adepticon weekend and as I’m attending this year I don’t know if I will be able to provide you with your regular weekly waffle so I’ve planned ahead and have something a bit different for this week. This doesn’t mean that you won’t also get some additional Adepticon updates because I do plan to try and bring you some form of update but it will depend on how much fun I’m having. If the games are rolling and drink is flowing then you will have wait until I return for more content. But in the meantime I’m going to steal a line from Blue Peter and say…

  • The Road to Adepticon 2018 #3

This is going to be the final road to Adepticon update before the event because at the time this update should go live all things being well we will be at Heathrow waiting for the big silver bird to fly us over the pond to America. Ok then it might not be silver and it might not be bird but we should all be booked in and ready for off. Just a case of waiting around the flight, sitting avoiding boredom for a few hours, I think about eight, then a wait to clear customs and a train into Chicago. But it will all be worth it for a Geadarnos…

    Weekly Waffle #165

No game night for this weeks weekly waffle which is happen as well as I’ve needed the time to sort out all the final bits and pieces ahead of next week’s little jaunt across the pond. Well to be precise it actually starts tomorrow but that was just so that we could save some money on the train fair. I think I’ve touched on this already but it was going to cost us nearly three hundred pounds for a train ticket to take us three hundred and fifty miles on a Monday morning. The same journey on the way home a week later but on a Tuesday afternoon is costing…

  • Weekly Waffle #164

Game night for this week’s weekly waffle was more of a prep night with just me and Al and the game was to try and figure out how to fit Al Sigmar models into a case ready for the trip to America which is frighteningly close now. In fact it’s just over a week. So as I said no gaming but we did get all his models sorted but I now need to sort mine out now, although I’ve not booked any games whilst I’m there so I’m only looking to take things for pickup games so I think it will just be a case of seeing what mood I’m…

  • Weekly Waffle #163

It’s been a mixed bunch for this week’s weekly waffle starting with a bit of retail therapy. For our D&D night Corey had a folding dice tray with poppers on the corner so that it can folded flat when not in use. So nothing fancy but I really liked it and decided to get one for myself. The problem I had was whether to go with a plain one or a pictured one and to make sure that whatever I got didn’t clash with my dice. In the end I decided to go for a plain black one as I thought that would work best with the new bone coloured…

  • Weekly Waffle #162

This week’s weekly waffle I have to say that I have been a lazy so and so. I’ve not had lots of things on and work hasn’t been particularly busy I’ve just plain and simple been lazy. I think some of it has come from the fact that I’ve been struggling on my painting projects and keep sitting down to do something but not really having a clue how to do it. So I look at it, listen to some music and look at it some more. Then I’m surprised when an hour has gone by and nothing has changed at which point I have given up. On a more…

  • Weekly Waffle #161

It’s been a bit of mixed bag this week with me being back on the road again for a few days so no game night this week for this weeks weekly waffle. Although we did get another D&D session in last Saturday. The numbers were a bit depleted so it ended up being a bit of side adventure which was a lot of fun. You know your party is in trouble though when they refer to my character, a Halfling monk and the fighting tank of the party. Needless to say we tried to avoid as much trouble as we could and made it into a very good fact finding…
