Weekly Waffle #239

Well I missed the weekly waffle update last week but in my defence it was a significant birthday for me having survived to the half century mark so I was out with friends and the update just got forgotten about. Not that I have much of an update from the last two weeks but I didn’t’ want to skip another week.

Game night last week was another Black Stone Fortress adventure, or more accurately it saw us continuing our adventure. We ended up with a couple of combat encounters but importantly we all managed to make it through and we managed to collect enough clues that we can now attempt a run on one of the safes we need to do. It’s essentially like to getting to the end level boss in a video game so that that’s what we will be doing next time round. My Navigator character is now inspired as well so that will be interesting to see if it makes much difference to how he plays. We didn’t have a game this week but with a bit of look we will crack on with this next week.

I’ve had some time off work and I’ve spent it being extremely lazy and have done very little on the hobby front. So in the Grot Bot bet it’s fair to say that Pete is in the lead at the moment as I’ve done nothing yet, I’ve not even started to measure up an existing bot to see what I need to order. But it’s not been a complete wash out. I’ve been picking through some of my unfinished projects and I’ve picked up a few Infamy models that I had prepped but then not done anything else with. Well they now have a bit of colour on them. I don’t have plan for how they are going to look when they are finished I’m just playing and going with what I feel like at the time I’m painting. This will probably work against me once I get stuck so I’ve no idea when or even if I will ever actually finish them.

I’ve also pick up a Nuts Planet model I’d put to one side some time ago and done a little bit of work on this. A bit like the Infamy stuff I’m not a hundred percent sure just where I’m going with this although the colours are based on the box art. It was a piece I picked up as I wanted to try painting and different scale and try out a few new techniques. So I suppose the fact that it’s taking me fact that it’s taking me forever to paint isn’t really an issue as I’m painting if for the fun of doing something different.

We haven’t had any D&D for a while and there is no game this week as a certain Mr Al is also rapidly approaching his half century so to we are going out for a few drinks tonight. It’s technically a bit early but it’s the only weekend we can get friends together from various parts of the country so he gets an early birthday. That will mean that I won’t get anything done tomorrow and then it’s back to work next week for me. I’m kind of hoping that getting back into a normal work routine will also get me back into a hobby routine but I’ll just have to see how that actually pans outs. So until next week I have hope you have a great weekend whatever you have planned and I’ll catch you all again next week.
