Weekly Waffle #179
No gaming for me for this weeks weekly waffle#Post Title | #Site Title #Post Title | #Site Title . Tuesday night is our usual gaming night and it just so happened to coincide with a day of strike action by Northern Rail on a day I needed to travel to Newcastle. Needless to say I never actually made it as far as Newcastle but still spent all day waiting for delayed replacement bus services or delayed replacement timetable trains. None of which were on time and most of which were actually cancelled. All of which meant that by the time I finally got home I just couldn’t be bothered moving. So…
Weekly Waffle #178
Ok where do I start this week’s weekly waffle? It seems like all my plans have gone out of the window and I’ve headed of on down untrodden path. Well maybe not that untrodden but unused for some time. I’ve come over all 40k this week and I’ve spent just about all of my hobby time working on the Looted Primarus Redempter Dreadnought project, which has turned into something of a monster. In true orky fashion it has been christened with blood from a couple of carless cuts but it all adds to the character and should make it faster before I’ve even got round to painting it. Once I…
Weekly Waffle #169
Well Adepticon feels like a dim and distant memory now and the world has slotted everything back into place as if the trip never actually happened. So that’s the post-holiday blues out of the way and everything is back to normal. Although the mojo is still up and I’m working on getting some hobby time in every day, even if it’s only ten minutes. I read somewhere that one of the blockers for getting things done is actually starting them so by planning to do something, no matter how small, each day gets you in the mind set to get things done. No idea if it will continue but it’s…
Weekly Waffle #168
For this week’s weekly waffle I’m hoping that some sort of normal service will be restored. As promised last week I managed to drag my thoughts together and get the review / update of Adepticon published this week so I hope that gave you taste of what it was like. And if there any of you out there planning your own trip I would highly recommend it, I’m hoping to be back again in 2020 so I may see you there. So what have I got for you this week? With this being a waffle I’ll start with a bit filler and that has been that I have finally gotten…
Weekly Waffle #166
This weekend is Adepticon weekend and as I’m attending this year I don’t know if I will be able to provide you with your regular weekly waffle so I’ve planned ahead and have something a bit different for this week. This doesn’t mean that you won’t also get some additional Adepticon updates because I do plan to try and bring you some form of update but it will depend on how much fun I’m having. If the games are rolling and drink is flowing then you will have wait until I return for more content. But in the meantime I’m going to steal a line from Blue Peter and say…
Weekly Waffle #151
I’ve been a bit more organised for this weeks weekly waffle and stolen a bit of time throughout the week to put this week’s update together. So this week’s update will be a proper waffle, and it’s quite a specific waffle. It’s loosely based around what happens to a game when someone else takes over the IP. I’m bringing this up because Warcradle studios now owns the IP for both Wild West Exodus and Dystopian wars, both games I own and really enjoy. They had already made some big changes to WWX but now that they have taken over Dystopian Wars they have announced that they are going to merge…
Weekly Waffle #150
I’d like to start this weeks weekly waffle by apologising for being a day late with waffle and whilst I’m begging for forgiveness I’ll throw in the fact that it’s not going to be a particularly epic event. There’s big story about me being a day late just the fact that I’ve been really busy and didn’t plan in enough time got the update done. On the plus side all the work and travel I’ve been putting in has meant that a project we received a gold award at a European awards ceremony this week. So with only one week of transition to go I’m hoping I will start to…
Weekly Waffle #145
It’s been a real mixed bag for this week’s weekly waffle, I think I’ve finally manage to shake this cold that I’ve had for the last few weeks and have felt more human than I have in quite a while. Travel for this week has only been for a couple of nights and it was chance to work with guy I haven’t seen for a few years which was quite nice. To be honest it was really easy which was a nice change. On the hobby front I’ve not picked up a paint brush this week but I have spent a lot of time working on the Grot Bots I…
Weekly Waffle #144
It’s been another disappointing hobby week for me again for this weeks weekly waffle but this time I’m blaming it firmly on the Scottish. Yes I know it’s it a bit harsh to blame all my hobby woes on a single nation but it’s all their fault. Ok maybe not all of them but it’s certainly down to a couple of them. Let me explain. I’ve had a cold, well it’s really a near terminal case of man flue, for about six weeks and I just can’t seem to shake it. Now I thought I had just about broken its back when work send me up to an undisclosed location…
Weekly Waffle #128
So with me being away for the last two weeks now I’ve not had any time for any hobby at all this week but I still wanted to bring you what I hope is a bit of light hearted reading on this Saturdays weekly waffle. My solution has been to take a few pictures of some of my 40k orks and have a bit of nostalgia trip but to also explain how these creations came into being. As I’ve said before it’s the fluff of 40k that has always attracted me and it’s that fluff that is responsible for the odd ball creations. But before I get to the models…
