Weekly Waffle #66
For game night for this weeks weekly waffle me and Al had arranged to get some Guild Ball in so that we could get up to speed with the rules before Vengeance on the 14th of May. When I turned up Al was just finishing up a game of ‘40K Kill Team’ using the Space Marines and things weren’t going his way. I have to say that this isn’t a game that really interests me but I think it’s a good move from Games Workshop to do this sort of thing and the miniatures that come with the game are very nice. If I was still playing 40K then I…
Weekly Waffle #65
Well where to start with this week’s weekly waffle. I got home from AdeptiCon 2016 on Tuesday and spent the day getting all those boring washing and ironing jobs out of the way whilst at the same time trying to stay awake and to beat the jet lag. I think that by time I want to bed on Tuesday I’d been up for something like thirty two hours. Then when the alarm went off on Wednesday I go got myself up straight away and that was it jet lag defeated. Obviously with all this travel we didn’t have a game nigh this week and I’ve done a separate update for…

Weekly Waffle #64
I’m having to do this weekly waffle from my mobile phone so it’s really only going to be a place holder for a more detailed update once I get home. But the short update is that we’ve had two days here, got lots of games in, drunk a lot of beer and met some really nice people. I’ve also picked up a bunch of minis to make up a new and more personal Frostgrave warband. Today is mostly classes with the airbrush featuring highly and I’ll probably be ending the day with at least one new airbrush. Sorry for the short update this week but I’ll have a lot more…
Weekly Waffle #63
No game night for this week’s weekly waffle, it was Al’s little brother’s birthday, although for anyone who knows Gaz little doesn’t do him justice. He looks like Grizzly Adams. So that meant no chance for a final WWX test game, but it also gave me a little bit more time to finish the last few models. As I highlighted last week I needed paint up four new models and I was dreading the prospect. I just haven’t had the mojo for painting cowboys for some time now. But once I got sat down to do these they just clicked and I’ve really enjoyed painting them. In fact I’ve got…

Game night for this week’s weekly waffle#Site Title #Post Title #Site Title #Post Title saw me and Al abandon our planned game of Frostgrave. Partly because we didn’t like the terrain we had and partly because we need to get a practice game of Wild West Exodus in before we head off to Adepticon. And that was where the trouble started because neither of us could remember what games we had actually signed up for. So we go online and check, and that was when I started to panic. The game I’m signed up for is the Big Bass, a $1200 game and I know I have enough points for…
Weekly Waffle #61
No game night for this week’s weekly waffle but I’ve been on the road all week for work so wouldn’t have been able to get any gaming in anyway. But me and Al have agreed that we are going to get our first game of Frostgrave in next week. On the hobby front I haven’t been able to spend a lot of time on things this week. But the time I have had I think has been really productive. I think this goes back to what I was talking about last week in relation to painting models I like as opposed to models I need, or think I need. By…
Weekly Waffle #60
It’s been a mad week at work this week so I wasn’t really feeling in the mood when gaming night came around. The plan for the weekly waffle had been to finish off the MERCS game and then have our first game of Frostgrave. So the first part of the plan went well. Al had been reading up on the ‘Breach and Clear’ rules so we got straight into that and completed it with style. Maybe a bit too much style because at the end of the turn the security rating had gone up to level two which meant we couldn’t complete the mission so it was game over. I…
Weekly Waffle #59
Game night was back on again for this week’s weekly waffle and I actually get in a couple of games, or finished one and started another to be more precise. Tyler wanted to have a go a Firestorm Armada so I dug out the start scenarios and models so we could give it a go. The result, I got an absolute tubing. I managed to last a few rounds but once he brought his broadsides into range I had no chance. But it was fun having a go at something different and we are going to carry on over the next few weeks. The next game came as something of…
Weekly Waffle #58
No game night for this week’s weekly waffle with Al being off on his jollies so in theory I should have had a bit more hobby time. But work seems to have decided to make me extra busy this week so haven’t go as much done as I would have liked. Although having said that I have managed to get some work done. So let’s start off with the big stuff. I’ve managed to make some good progress on the Bank with the roof and sign finished. I’m reasonably happy with the green on the walls but it needs a bit more work to pull out some of the detail…
