It had to happen and this week seems to be the week. Somewhat cryptic I know but this week has been the first week when I seem to have lost my mojo but I really don’t know why. The weather hasn’t been too bad, work hasn’t been overly demanding and life at home is plodding along with no major issue so I’m not sure why I haven’t had any mojo this week. I have been really fired up to get started on the Dystopian Wars stuff but every time I’ve looked at them I’ve kind of frozen. My thinking is that because I don’t have clearly defined colour scheme for each faction yet I may be reticent to get started in case I get it wrong. Which is a bit silly because they are my models and I can paint them in any way I want, but I want to get them right. So I’ve spent most of my hobby time just looking and different colours to use on them and because I have so many to choose from the result has been that I haven’t been able to decide. Which may be an indication that I have far too many paints. But the upshot of all of this is that I haven’t put a single drop of paint on a single model.
Now having said that I have done some hobby related, or loosely hobby related activates this week. Whilst I’ve been lounging around and watching some very dodgy TV I’ve managed to complete my Lego Land Rover Defender. It’s been really fun to build and I’m really happy with how it’s turned out. It is much bigger than I first thought it would be so finding somewhere to keep it now that it’s finished is going to be a challenge. For now, however it is residing in the fireplace. That could be a mistake but the weather is getting warmer so I’m confident it won’t get turned into a puddle any time soon. Fingers crossed.
I have to say that was a very fiddly build and I may have to get some more pictures for a future update showing some the interior elements. Thinks like the working gearbox with two or four-wheel drive, working steering and the winch. All in all, it’s a very detailed kit.
Anyway that’s it for this week. I’m hoping to get some mojo back so that I can give you a proper update next week. I’m not going tie myself down to a particular update next week but I will do my best to make sure I have something for you. Obviously I’d like it to be some Dystopian Wars but let’s wait and see how I get on. So until next week I hope you all keep safe and have some fun in whatever it is you get up to.
