Weekly Waffle #262
In this weeks weekly waffle I’ve been trying to get back into the swing of things after missing last week’s update. It was just a case of me having had a very busy week and when things finally calmed down to a manageable level on Friday night I had the choice of doing the update or sitting in the garden with a cold IPA, chilling out. Needless to say the cold IPA won. But I’m back again this week. Albeit not with a massive update as there are still lots of things going on for me at the moment outside of the hobby. However, I didn’t’ want to miss another week as that could then become habit forming, and I do enjoy doing these updates.
First up for you this week is something new the grots have been working on. In fact, it’s so new at the time of taking the pictures things were still a little bit on the flexible side. I’ve been really impressed with the silicone moulds I got from Green Stuff world to make the bolts that I decided to have a look at some of their other offerings. Now I want to point out here that I’ve paid for these with my own pennies and this isn’t some sort of advert. I picked up the Controls Panels and Grids & Fans moulds. I thought they would be good for adding that extra bit of detail to creations and I have to say I’m quite happy with my first attempts. Whilst the process is the same as for the bolts in that you mix up your putty, in this case milliput black and push it into the mould you do need a slightly different technique. I rushed things a bit with my first attempt but the imperfections where I didn’t the milliput in properly actually look good for Ork gubbins. For the control panels it uses a lot of milliput so I didn’t do a full set as I ran out of the stuff I’d mixed that my testing. Any way you can see the pictures here and make your own minds up. I like them and will be will certainly be making more of the girds and fans if nothing else.

On the trukk front things have been quite slow but I have just about finished off the cab. I added so jags to the radiator grill at the last minute before I took the pictures so haven’t yet put the bolds on them. But that is all I have to do to finish it. I’m happy with how it’s turned which is basically a slightly longer version of the previous one.

I’ve also started work on the cover the load bed but at the moment all that I’ve done is cut out the basic shapes. With it just being rectangles of white plasticard I’ve not bothered with any pictures. There is only so much filler I can put into a single waffle and that would just be taking things a bit too far.
That’s it for this week, I’m hoping to get a bit of hobby in this week but I know that next week at work is going to be manic again so may not get much work done this week. I will be having a play with these moulds so I should be able to give you an update on them. The trukk beds are going to be may main focus and with a bit of luck I should have something to show you on that front. So enjoy your weekend and I’ll hope to catch up with you again next week.
