Weekly Waffle #30

Well after last week’s bumper weekly waffle I’m afraid this week may be something of a disappointment. I’ve been feeling a bit under the weather all week so haven’t got very much done. I missed game night on this week because I was feeling sorry for myself and couldn’t be bothered to move. Which meant no demo games, although Pete is looking to get a Brewer team after last week’s demo.

Whilst the Brewers are fresh in my mind I’ve managed to make a little but more progress this week with mine. The hair and skin are now finished so things are getting there with just the details left to finish off. The eagle eyed amongst you will notice that there is currently no trace of tartan on the models and that is because I have a cunning plan, a plan so cunning, well you get the idea. So this cunning plan is to finish off the models in all respects except the tartan. Then apply a couple of layers of Vallejo Satin Varnish to seal the model, again all standard stuff for me. But then the plan is to paint the tartan over this. My thinking is that if I mess things up I can use a little bit of thinners to clean things up without ruining the rest of the paint job. I think the theory is fine but will have to see how it works in practice. In the mean time I have a few pictures of what where I’m up to with them at the moment.

And that’s it for this week. I’m planning on having a quite weekend and with a bit of luck I’ll be feeling better for next week and I may have a better update for you.
