Dystopian Wars – Fleet Basing Guide
I can’t find anything in the rules that says you have to base your ships for Dystopian Wars but they do look much nicer on the table top if they are based. It took me a while to get round to basing by fleets but once I found a method that I thought looked ok and was reasonably easy to reproduce there was no stopping me. Dystopian Wars – Republique of France – Painting Guide
This has been the project that has caused me the most consternation ever. I have liked the Dystopian Wars models for the Republique of France since I first saw them; in fact I think they are some of the best models in the entire game. Guild Ball – Mist Painting Guide
This is a painting guide for the new model for Mist that I picked up through the Locker Room as it had only previously been available as a prize at some Steam Forge events. For me the sculpt is really evocative and much more menacing than the previous version. Sergeant Crooks is one of the Baker Street Irregulars who in this twisted setting are the Hench men of the notorious criminal mastermind that is Sherlock Holmes aka the Kingpin. Every devious criminal mastermind needs a man on the force and though Holmes has many in his employ it is Crookes who, more than any, is willing to show his dubious allegiance, standing side-by-side with the Baker Street Irregulars in scuffles. Confederate – Corporal Franklyn (Sidekick) – Painting Guide
Corporal Franklyn is in the concept art book so that’s what I used as reference for my paint scheme. Having already adopted the same approach for Captain Williams, my thinking being that it becomes something of a standard for anyone who is using a light support type weapon. The first step was to prime the model and I did this using Vallejo Black Surface Primer (74.602) for a first coat. I then went back over the model using Vallejo Grey Surface Primer (74.601) at about a forty five degree angle to start to build up some shadow and highlight. My current paint brushes had got to that stage where the tips are starting to go and were in need of replacing but the dilemma was what to replace them with. Confederate – Stonewall Jackson (Boss) – Painting Guide
Stonewall Jackson is one of the Bosses of the Confederate Rebellion and like most of the colour schemes of late the inspiration for this one came from the Concept Art book.
