    Weekly Waffle #165

No game night for this weeks weekly waffle which is happen as well as I’ve needed the time to sort out all the final bits and pieces ahead of next week’s little jaunt across the pond. Well to be precise it actually starts tomorrow but that was just so that we could save some money on the train fair. I think I’ve touched on this already but it was going to cost us nearly three hundred pounds for a train ticket to take us three hundred and fifty miles on a Monday morning. The same journey on the way home a week later but on a Tuesday afternoon is costing…

Game night for this week’s weekly waffle was more of a prep night with just me and Al and the game was to try and figure out how to fit Al Sigmar models into a case ready for the trip to America which is frighteningly close now. In fact it’s just over a week. So as I said no gaming but we did get all his models sorted but I now need to sort mine out now, although I’ve not booked any games whilst I’m there so I’m only looking to take things for pickup games so I think it will just be a case of seeing what mood I’m…

  • The Road to Adepticon 2018 #2

It’s been a while since I did the last update so I thought it was time I brought you up to date on where we are with this year’s trip. I covered off the fact that we had the hotel booked event tickets secured in the last update. Since then Darren has been a star and booked the flights so we will be flying out on Monday the 19th so we can have a couple of days in Chicago ahead of the event. And then flying home on 26th so that we get to enjoy everything Adepticon has to offer this year. Unlike last time we went in order for…

  • The Road to Adepticon 2018 #1

It’s probably a bit late to be starting this as I’ve mentioned a few times in the Weekly Waffle that a few of us are going to be returning to the good old US of A next year for Adepticon (2018). We were there are a couple of years ago for the 2016 even and really enjoyed ourselves. Now that we’ve had time to recover and save up a few pennies we are on our way back. Like last time my plan is to do a few articles that cover off some of the key milestones, that’s a bit of work creeping in, about our planning for next year’s trip.…

  • Weekly Waffle #148

I’m going to start off this week’s weekly waffle with a controversial subject that is nothing to do with gaming. It’s to do with a famous drink that I don’t particularly like. But everyone says you have to try it in Ireland because that’s where it’s from and it tastes much better. So having spent this week in Belfast I’ve made the trip to the Crow and had a pint of the black stuff but here’s where I get really controversial. I wasn’t impressed. Don’t get me wrong there was nothing wrong with it but it was just uninspiring, nothing special. What they did have however was a rather fantastic…

It’s been another disappointing hobby week for me again for this weeks weekly waffle but this time I’m blaming it firmly on the Scottish. Yes I know it’s it a bit harsh to blame all my hobby woes on a single nation but it’s all their fault. Ok maybe not all of them but it’s certainly down to a couple of them. Let me explain. I’ve had a cold, well it’s really a near terminal case of man flue, for about six weeks and I just can’t seem to shake it. Now I thought I had just about broken its back when work send me up to an undisclosed location…

    Weekly Waffle #65

Well where to start with this week’s weekly waffle. I got home from AdeptiCon 2016 on Tuesday and spent the day getting all those boring washing and ironing jobs out of the way whilst at the same time trying to stay awake and to beat the jet lag. I think that by time I want to bed on Tuesday I’d been up for something like thirty two hours. Then when the alarm went off on Wednesday I go got myself up straight away and that was it jet lag defeated. Obviously with all this travel we didn’t have a game nigh this week and I’ve done a separate update for…

    Weekly Waffle #64

I’m having to do this weekly waffle from my mobile phone so it’s really only going to be a place holder for a more detailed update once I get home. But the short update is that we’ve had two days here, got lots of games in, drunk a lot of beer and met some really nice people. I’ve also picked up a bunch of minis to make up a new and more personal Frostgrave warband. Today is mostly classes with the airbrush featuring highly and I’ll probably be ending the day with at least one new airbrush. Sorry for the short update this week but I’ll have a lot more…

No game night for this week’s weekly waffle, it was Al’s little brother’s birthday, although for anyone who knows Gaz little doesn’t do him justice. He looks like Grizzly Adams. So that meant no chance for a final WWX test game, but it also gave me a little bit more time to finish the last few models. As I highlighted last week I needed paint up four new models and I was dreading the prospect. I just haven’t had the mojo for painting cowboys for some time now. But once I got sat down to do these they just clicked and I’ve really enjoyed painting them. In fact I’ve got…
