Weekly Waffle #15
Ok where to start with his week’s weekly waffle. I’ve continued to add more content to the site, specifically the galleries, since last week’s update. There are now six different galleries up and running and I’ve even made sure that I’ve added descriptions to all of the individual images, which was a really exciting job. But not half as exciting as going back over all the previous posts on the site and adding ‘tags’ to them, all so that it will be possible to search for content. Having said that now that it’s done I’ve learnt my lesson and I’ll be making sure it’s part of any future updates. On…
Weekly Waffle #14
This week’s weekly waffle is a little be thin on the ground. I’ve spent the week away from home so haven’t had chance to do any sort of hobby stuff. What I have done though is armed myself with the laptop and I’ve done quite a bit of work on the site. The most obvious change has been a bit of re-branding. I’ve been working on the new logo for some time now but have just never got round to doing the finishing touches. So with all this time on my hands I’ve pulled my finger out and got things finished so I hope you like it. Next up I’ve…
Weekly Waffle #13
A really mixed week for this week’s weekly waffle. It actually started last weekend when I had a few games of X-Wing and I’m now hooked. A few of my friends have been playing it since it came out and I’ve had a few games in the past but never got the bug. Then last Saturday I played a few games using a YT-2400, because I really like the look and the fluff in the expanded universe. As it turns out it’s also fun to play so I’m now going to have to look at building up a 100 point list and wee where we go from there. Guild ball…
Weekly Waffle #12
For this week’s weekly waffle I’ve been working to finish off some of the Batman models from last week. I’ve managed to get some of the basic objective markers finished off and made some progress on the Joker gas cylinders but these still need some free hand to finish them off. Next up we have the Riddler which I am really happy with. I think the green really stands out especially with some of the darker detail. I use purple for the darker sections after finding some examples of these colours on line. They will also carry through it I use him as part of the Joker crew as I…
Weekly Waffle #11
I didn’t do a weekly waffle last week because a good friend of mine who I’ve known since we were kids passed away and I just didn’t feel that producing an update was somehow appropriate. But the whole experience has made me think that it’s important to enjoy what we have and for me that includes my hobby which has been something of an escape for me over the last couple of weeks. Just a way to escape for a while. So what have I been up to? Well first off I have been getting busy with the green stuff and making some base inserts. I’ve made a batch for…
Weekly Waffle #10
It’s been a bit of strange week for this week’s weekly waffle . For as long as I can remember our gaming club night has been on a Wednesday night. But things change and we’ve had to move it to a Tuesday, nothing drastic in that but it’s become such a routine for me that I’ve been all over the place this week with the move. I guess it really is hard to teach an old dog a new trick. But I’m sure I’ll get used to in. So what did I manage to do this week? First up I’ve done a bit more conversion, or more actually, scratch building.…
Weekly Waffle #9
Something of a mixed week for this week’s weekly waffle. I felt I was losing my mojo with all the Infinity I seem to have been painting over the last couple of weeks so I switched to something different. The result has been some more work on my Batman collection with the Heath Ledger Joker which I think is a fantastic model. Then it was on to a couple of henchmen in the form of Mr Hammer & Mr Sickle. I like both these models and after reading up on their background, they were conjoined twins, I decided to paint them both at the same time. Just to make sure…
Weekly Waffle #8
A slower week again for this week’s weekly waffle with me concentrating on my Anaconda TAG for infinity. I’ve tried to use the airbrush a little bit more for this one by painting all of the green sections with it. I then switched to the brush to do the highlights and the brown sections. All in all I’m reasonable happy with it’s going, although I do think that with more practice I could do even more with the airbrush so it’s something to work on. I’ve also been working on a few more desert bases. I actually mixed up a bit to mush green stuff when I made the bases…
Weekly Waffle #7
I’ve managed to get some more hobby time in for this week’s weekly waffle and the first thing I have done is to clear up my workspace. Next up I had some unboxing to do when my ‘Ana Bot Hunter’ model arrived. This is a model from Ammon Miniatures which I had seen some time ago and really liked. Then I saw and unboxing of it in a copy of ‘Figure Painter’ magazine and decided to try and track it down, which consisted of simply going to the Ammon Miniatures web site. Which by the way has some other really nice looking minis. So model ordered and little over a…
