Weekly Waffle #116
I’m not sure where to start for this weeks weekly waffle there has that much going on for me away from the hobby. Work is even more manic that usual but I’m working on the principle that the bulk of the really messy stuff should be out of the way by Easter. I’ll still have a lot of traveling to do but I would have the hour after hour of e-mails to go along with it. Or at least that’s how it should work. The travel has been real eye opening this week. I’ve been working on a site near some major bridge works and having early starts and late…
Weekly Waffle #115
These weekly waffle updates are beginning to feel a bit like ground hog day with no game night because I’ve been on the road all week. I did manage to make a bit of change this week and took a few paints away with me so I could get some hobby time in. But more on that later. For me this week the big thing is that for those lucky enough to be in Schaumburg it’s Adepticon. I can’t believe it’s been a year since we were there and seeing all the pictures on Twitter this week has really fired me to up go back again next year. Greg who…
Weekly Waffle #109
So no travel it interrupt this weeks weekly waffle which is a nice change, although there was no game night this week because Al was working. I just can’t seem to win at the moment. But it has given me a bit more time to put this week’s waffle together and whilst I’ve not managed to get a great deal of painting done there have been a few things that have caught my eye this week. I’ve been really intrigued by some of the wording that came along with the latest 40k releases. Specifically those that go along with the images of Cypher. Now I have to say that I’m…
Weekly Waffle #107
So once again it’s been a week when I haven’t been able to any gaming in for the weekly waffle but have managed to watch a let’s play for Shadow Games which a board game set in the world of Guild Ball. I got the game as a Christmas present but haven’t had a chance to get a game in yet so it was good to watch someone playing through a game. I’ve now watched it a couple of times an think I’ve got the hand of it, I just need to get some time to give it a go. The idea behind the game is that you are an…
Weekly Waffle #106
It’s been another manic week with work so once again I haven’t had a great deal of time to get any hobby in for the weekly waffle. Having said that I’ve been making steady, if somewhat, slow progress with the Deathwatch. This week I’ve managed to get all the bases painted up and the models mounted so if needed they could be used in a game now. But there are still quite a few details that still need completing. I’ve said it before about these guys but there are so many details, which I’m not complaining about, it seems like you’ve got everything covered and then you notice something else…
Weekly Waffle #105
Well were to start for this weeks weekly waffle, as I mentioned last week I know work was going to start to get a bit manic but I didn’t know it would start as soon as it did. I missed game night this week because I’ve been on the road all week. It’s also meant that I’ve not go very much done this week, just a few hours to work on some Death Watch. But I do think those few hours were productive as feel like I’m making progress with them. I’ve already made the bases for them so I just need to keep plugging away to get them finished.…
Weekly Waffle #103
This weeks weekly waffle has been a bit more mixed up than normal, which is saying something after the last few weeks. I think it’s just something that seems to happen at this time of year where I end up spending lots of time doing as little as possible and trying to avoid the chaos that can make any time off a nightmare. My plan was to chill out and to try and get some hobby in, which sort of worked. What I really wanted to do this week was to crack on with my Militarum Tempestus and get them finished off. Didn’t work. I did manage to make some…
Weekly Waffle #102
Well hello and welcome to what I’m considering the Christmas Edition of the weekly waffle, even though Father Christmas won’t be here until tomorrow. Assuming you’ve all been good this year. Will any of you get any gaming or hobby in over Christmas. I was hoping to have a really good update on our multiple games of Kill Team following game night this week but things didn’t work out quite how I had planned. Pete had taken the time to write up four lists and the plan was that we would all pick a list at random to use. He’d told me which death watch models I needed to bring…
Weekly Waffle #100
So todays post marks the centenary of my weekly waffle and to be honest I’m amazed I’ve made it this far. I’ve said before that when I started the site it was really only a way of rekindling the flagging enthusiasm for the hobby I was experiencing at the time. And I have to say it has done the job. Over the last hundred editions it’s slowly turned into the norm with me starting each week thinking about what I’m going to have to do too have some content for the next instalment. Some weeks this is easy and occasionally I even manage to get ahead of myself and get…
Weekly Waffle #98
For this week’s weekly waffle there was no game night again so a chance to make a start on a new project, or really an extension of what I’ve already been working. I’ve really enjoyed painting up the Deathwatch Kill Team so I decided to carry on and picked up the Deathwatch Cassius Kill Team. I’ve liked these models since the boxed game came out so being able to pick them up as a set of models without the game is great business idea for GW. And this got me thinking about something GW said earlier this year that didn’t really make sense to me at the time. They said…
