Weekly Waffle #186
An interesting if not massively productive week this week so the weekly waffle is correspondingly short. No game night so that freed up Tuesday night and I foolishly went to the Gym, which meant I did three days on the bounce this week and I really felt that by Thursday. So, Thursday night was D&D night and after the precarious position we left things in last week I really thought I would need a new character this week, so much so that I rolled one up just in case. As it turned out my character survived but Tom’s wasn’t so fortunate. If you remember from last week I had locked…
Weekly Waffle #185
I’m going to do things out of order for this weeks weekly waffle and start off with games night. We’ve decided that we are all going to do a different Kill Team and then run a bit of campaign. But to add as much variety as we can we are all going to do a different team. I have a few ideas for what I would like to do but someone came up with the idea of it being a random selection. So we put all of the all of the different team into one pot and our names into another. Then it was just a case of picking a…
Weekly Waffle #184
I’ve got something of a mixed bag for you this week’s weekly waffle with a bit of a gaming update and few different hobby related updates. Although I don’t think I have as many pictures for you this week. And I’ve decided to do them in chronological order just because I haven’t done that for a while. So first up we have a hobby update but not just any hobby update this hobby update was a group event. As a club we have just got a whole bunch of 40K terrain that will work really well with the recently released Necromunda and the soon to be released 40K Kill Team,…
Weekly Waffle #182
I’m going to kick off this week’s weekly waffle with some mixed gaming updates. First up was that I missed game night on Tuesday because I have to go up to Newcastle for work and just couldn’t get back in time so I think we are going to end up having the longest running first game of Necromunda ever. As there is no game night next week it’s going to end up taking four weeks to get through this first game. Fingers crossed subsequent games don’t take quite as long. On the D&D front we’ve actually managed to fit in a couple of games this week but it is with…
Weekly Waffle #181
Well I’m going to start this week’s weekly waffle with an update from game night, because I actually played a game. I know it’s rare but there you go. Myself and Corey started a game of Necromunda with Pete looking after the rules for us. First time for all of us and I have to say that it’s brutal. Every time I got hit I was knocked down and pinned which is something of a pain. But a lot of my girls have stilettoes that are brutal in close combat with a basic ganger taking out Corey’s leader in one go. We didn’t manage to get the game finished, not…
Weekly Waffle #180
No game night to report on for this week’s weekly waffle. Al had to work, or at least that’s what he tells us, although we have another D&D session tonight. From the sound of what happened to the party last week, with all the characters getting very drunk and setting fire to the inn, it could be a very interesting night. I’ve also had to spend a few nights away this week for work, enjoying or should that really be enduring a trip to London that has meant I haven’t had much time for hobby. However on the hobby front I’ve got the kitbash bug again and I’ve made a…
Weekly Waffle #179
No gaming for me for this weeks weekly waffle#Post Title | #Site Title #Post Title | #Site Title . Tuesday night is our usual gaming night and it just so happened to coincide with a day of strike action by Northern Rail on a day I needed to travel to Newcastle. Needless to say I never actually made it as far as Newcastle but still spent all day waiting for delayed replacement bus services or delayed replacement timetable trains. None of which were on time and most of which were actually cancelled. All of which meant that by the time I finally got home I just couldn’t be bothered moving. So…
Weekly Waffle #178
Ok where do I start this week’s weekly waffle? It seems like all my plans have gone out of the window and I’ve headed of on down untrodden path. Well maybe not that untrodden but unused for some time. I’ve come over all 40k this week and I’ve spent just about all of my hobby time working on the Looted Primarus Redempter Dreadnought project, which has turned into something of a monster. In true orky fashion it has been christened with blood from a couple of carless cuts but it all adds to the character and should make it faster before I’ve even got round to painting it. Once I…
Weekly Waffle #169
Well Adepticon feels like a dim and distant memory now and the world has slotted everything back into place as if the trip never actually happened. So that’s the post-holiday blues out of the way and everything is back to normal. Although the mojo is still up and I’m working on getting some hobby time in every day, even if it’s only ten minutes. I read somewhere that one of the blockers for getting things done is actually starting them so by planning to do something, no matter how small, each day gets you in the mind set to get things done. No idea if it will continue but it’s…
Weekly Waffle #168
For this week’s weekly waffle I’m hoping that some sort of normal service will be restored. As promised last week I managed to drag my thoughts together and get the review / update of Adepticon published this week so I hope that gave you taste of what it was like. And if there any of you out there planning your own trip I would highly recommend it, I’m hoping to be back again in 2020 so I may see you there. So what have I got for you this week? With this being a waffle I’ll start with a bit filler and that has been that I have finally gotten…
