Continuing on from last weeks roundup just a few things that have caught my eye this week. Puppets War Sorcerer. https://puppetswar.eu/product.php?id_product=626 I’ve had a few things from Puppets War in the past, mainly in the line of Ork conversions and I’ve always found them to be very nice. This Sorcerer caught my eye and I thought it could be a really nice model to use in a Frostgrave Warband. Weekly Waffle #90
I didn’t get a game in this week’s weekly waffle but did get to watch Al get beat up in a game of Age of Sigmar. I still have no idea what is going on in the game but he had loads of Sigmar guys against some nearly unkillable lizard things. Needless to say he didn’t manage to kill it but it was fun watching him try. The Tree Lord is finally finished although it doesn’t’ really look any different than last time. Weekly Waffle #89
Didn’t get much gaming done on game night for this weeks weekly waffle. Al was full of cold so we just spent some time drinking tea and building up some Mantic terrain and getting confused. It’s a good one for a waffle though. Most to the terrain goes together really easily and is very intuitive but there are some pieces that just don’t seem to make sense. A classic example is that there is a really nice engine / generator piece but one side looks like it isn’t finished or that something else should fit up to it. No game night for this weeks weekly waffle which was something of blessing to be honest. Tuesday was my first day back at work after a couple weeks off and it was manic. Phone never stopped ringing and I was like a zombie by the time I finished. Two mostly relaxing weeks wiped away in a few hours. It’s not like I the world was ending or anything like that. Confederate – Corporal Franklyn (Sidekick) – Painting Guide
Corporal Franklyn is in the concept art book so that’s what I used as reference for my paint scheme. Having already adopted the same approach for Captain Williams, my thinking being that it becomes something of a standard for anyone who is using a light support type weapon. The first step was to prime the model and I did this using Vallejo Black Surface Primer (74.602) for a first coat. I then went back over the model using Vallejo Grey Surface Primer (74.601) at about a forty five degree angle to start to build up some shadow and highlight. Well were to start with this weeks weekly waffle. Didn’t make it to games night this week because of some car trouble. Came out to the car on Saturday and someone had vandalised the bonnet with spray paint but because I had other things on over the weekend I couldn’t do anything about it until Tuesday. Spent most of the day using T-Cut to try and polish it out which I have to say worked really well. Then when it came to set off for Al’s the battery on the car was dead, so I just gave up. WarColours Paint Brush Review
My current paint brushes had got to that stage where the tips are starting to go and were in need of replacing but the dilemma was what to replace them with. For the last 18 months or so I’ve been using some Games and Gears brushes and they have been very nice.
