To start off this week’s weekly waffle I have two game updates for you. Me and Al got together on Saturday for a re-match between his Union and my Butchers. To be honest from my point of view I wish we hadn’t bothered because I got an absolute tubing. The score ended up being 12 – 2 to the Union. For me it went wrong from the kick-off with getting players in the wrong position, then the dice gods deserted me and I never recovered. There was no game night on Tuesday for this week’s weekly waffle but me and Al did manage to finish off our Guild Ball on Sunday with the Butchers running out winners with a score of 12 to 8. It was a really fun game and showed that we really need the practice before we turn up Vengeance next month. I think that Al suffered from using the Union or at least his selection of players that didn’t seem to work well as a team. Whilst I opted to go with the Butchers to try and keep things simple. No game night for this week’s weekly waffle, it was Al’s little brother’s birthday, although for anyone who knows Gaz little doesn’t do him justice. He looks like Grizzly Adams. So that meant no chance for a final WWX test game, but it also gave me a little bit more time to finish the last few models. As I highlighted last week I needed paint up four new models and I was dreading the prospect. I just haven’t had the mojo for painting cowboys for some time now. Partly because we didn’t like the terrain we had and partly because we need to get a practice game of Wild West Exodus in before we head off to Adepticon. Gaming for this week’s weekly waffle saw me and Al finish off our Malifaux game and after two nights of gaming we ended up with a draw. The interesting thing for me was that I lost half of my models and didn’t achieve any of the ‘strategies’ for the game but I did manage to pull of two ‘schemes’ which gave me four victory points. Al on the other hand managed to get two ‘strategies’ and one ‘scheme’ which game him four victory points as well, he also wiped out half of my crew, but he doesn’t get anything or that. Well I’ve still not managed to shake off the hobby blues although game night was back on for this week’s weekly waffle. Me and Al had arranged to have a game of Wild West Exodus but that went a bit astray. He’s got the rules through for the tournament he has entered at Adepticon so he wanted to play with these rules. I think I’m still suffering from something of a new year hobby hangover and haven’t managed to get a great deal done this week’s weekly waffle. In my defence I have been suffering from man flue and have spent most of the week curled up in my chair with a cup of tea and a chocolate hobnob or five. Well it’s been a really weird week for this week’s weekly waffle, I always find that week between Christmas and New Year to be like that. No gaming this week with everyone having other commitments but I did spend some time with Al helping him to resolve some issues he had at home in his cellar were we game.
