Infinity Hardcases, 2nd Irregular Frontiersmen Guild Painting Guide
So at the moment I don’t have an Ariadnan army for Infinity but that may change. In the mean time I just love the look of this model and had to have a go at painting it. I’ve taken inspiration from various sources on the net, both real world and from computer games and this is what I came up with. First things first was to clean up the model and put it together. There aren’t that many parts to this model, five in fact, and they all go together nicely. None of the fiddly bits that you can often find on Infinity models. I started off using the…
Weekly Waffle #42
The car was working for this week’s weekly waffle, apparently the problem is that I don’t use it enough so the battery is draining due to lack of use. Guess I just need to do more driving. Anyway it meant I could make for game night this week although I didn’t actually paly. I was watching Ken and Dan playing out a 6mm Napoleonic game that looked quite interesting. Ken’s manoeuvring looked more like something from Strictly come dancing than any battlefield manual. But he was adamant that’s how it was done when he was a lad so who are we to argue. It did look like a good game…
Weekly Waffle #10
It’s been a bit of strange week for this week’s weekly waffle . For as long as I can remember our gaming club night has been on a Wednesday night. But things change and we’ve had to move it to a Tuesday, nothing drastic in that but it’s become such a routine for me that I’ve been all over the place this week with the move. I guess it really is hard to teach an old dog a new trick. But I’m sure I’ll get used to in. So what did I manage to do this week? First up I’ve done a bit more conversion, or more actually, scratch building.…
Weekly Waffle #9
Something of a mixed week for this week’s weekly waffle. I felt I was losing my mojo with all the Infinity I seem to have been painting over the last couple of weeks so I switched to something different. The result has been some more work on my Batman collection with the Heath Ledger Joker which I think is a fantastic model. Then it was on to a couple of henchmen in the form of Mr Hammer & Mr Sickle. I like both these models and after reading up on their background, they were conjoined twins, I decided to paint them both at the same time. Just to make sure…
Weekly Waffle #8
A slower week again for this week’s weekly waffle with me concentrating on my Anaconda TAG for infinity. I’ve tried to use the airbrush a little bit more for this one by painting all of the green sections with it. I then switched to the brush to do the highlights and the brown sections. All in all I’m reasonable happy with it’s going, although I do think that with more practice I could do even more with the airbrush so it’s something to work on. I’ve also been working on a few more desert bases. I actually mixed up a bit to mush green stuff when I made the bases…
Weekly Waffle #7
I’ve managed to get some more hobby time in for this week’s weekly waffle and the first thing I have done is to clear up my workspace. Next up I had some unboxing to do when my ‘Ana Bot Hunter’ model arrived. This is a model from Ammon Miniatures which I had seen some time ago and really liked. Then I saw and unboxing of it in a copy of ‘Figure Painter’ magazine and decided to try and track it down, which consisted of simply going to the Ammon Miniatures web site. Which by the way has some other really nice looking minis. So model ordered and little over a…
Weekly Waffle #6
It’s been a bit of funny week for this week’s weekly waffle . Work has had me away from home for a few days so I’ve not got as much painting time in as I would have liked. Having said then I have managed to make some progress with some more Haqqislam troops for Infinity. Sekban (Special Naval Force) to be precise. These guys are medium infantry in game terms and like the Muyibs from last week the box set here gives a range of weapon options. I’ve kept the same overall colour scheme of green and brown but this time I’ve gone for green armour and brown fatigues. They…
Weekly Waffle #5
So for this this week’s weekly waffle I’ve not done anything with the site. For the most part I’m happy with how things are working, although there are couple of things that I need to fix. As soon as I know how to. Galleries are still something I’m playing with but I think the ones that are there at the moment will do until I can finalise what I’m looking for. Also this week was the release, or pre-order of Angel Giraldez Masterclass book, and being an Infinity fan I was really looking forward to this. Unfortunately I wasn’t one of the lucky ones who managed to get hold of…
Weekly Waffle #4
Well this week on the site front I’ve been playing around with a few changes to the Galleries. I’m still not sure if I’m happy with them yet so I’ll probably carry on messing for a while yet until I settle on something I like. On the hobby front the manic pace of the first couple of updates has started to come down to a more sustainable pace. I have finished off ‘Boiler’ for the Butchers Guild from Guild Ball and as I’ve said in a couple of updates I’m really looking forward to the rest of these models turning up. I think I have a good handle on how…
Weekly Waffle #3
I’ve been doing quite a bit of work on the site again this week and think that things are now starting to settle down a bit. On the functional side the static pages are now displaying what I want them to, in more or less the right way. I have managed to find a gallery plugin that seems to work, although I’m going to leave it in the trial mode until I have a few more images uploaded so I can test it properly. Image wise I’ve been busy with the camera and will soon have some WWX and some Malifaux added to the existing Batman and Haqqislam offerings. I’ve…
