Weekly Waffle #79
No game night for this week’s weekly waffle#Site Title #Post Title #Site Title #Post Title and with no overnight trips for work I’ve actually managed to crack on with a few different hobby projects this week. The plan of having a few different things on the go at the same time seems to have paid off this week. To start with I’ve been working on some terrain pieces for Guild Ball. Al picked these up from Solid Ground Studios and I volunteered to paint them up a few weeks ago. I cleaned them up and primed them straight away and then they sat there waiting for something to happen, mainly because I…
Weekly Waffle #78
So I thought for this weeks weekly waffle I would have a truly British introspective on a subject that is really close to our hearts and how it impacts on our hobby. Yes you guessed it, it’s the weather. Over the last couple of weeks we have had some decidedly un-summer like weather and I think this has had a big impact on my motivation to paint. It’s frankly been a little bit depressing. So I’ve been sitting down to get some painting done, in this case an Italian fleet from sunny Italy whilst it’s cold and rainy outside. And I’ve ended up just sitting there thinking that I just…

It’s been another really busy week for me this week so I’ve had hardly any hobby time at all so we have a short weekly waffle. I was in Newcastle on Tuesday for work so missed out on game night again. Although we did all go for a few beers in the evening so it wasn’t all bad. The Italian fleet is now following a more Mediterranean build schedule with lots of long breaks. So all I’ve been able to do since last week is to paint all the desks across the fleet and make a start on the details. My first attempt at this was to go straight in…
Weekly Waffle #76
It’s been a bit of a mad week for me this week and I’ve been traveling up and down the country for work so not big weekly waffle. So lots of time spent on the train but not a lot of time on hobby. Having said then I have managed to start a new project and I think I’ve got off to a good start. With all the Guild ball stuff I’ve been doing of late I felt like I needed a bit of change with the new quick play rules now out for Dystopian Wars I decided to try something new. I’ve said this before but it’s worth saying…
Weekly Waffle #75
It’s been a couple of weeks now but I managed to make it to games night for this week’s weekly waffle, although I did turn up late so I didn’t manage to get a game in. But we did have an interesting chat about the future of the 40K. We were saying that whilst it was 40K that got us into gaming not of us have played a game of 40K in a long time. In fact I don’t think any of us actually own a rule book or an up to date codex. Now just to be clear this wasn’t a Games Workshop bashing session we were just saying…

In some wired Doctor Who theme this week’s weekly waffle actually starts before last week’s update was posted with the Vengeance 2016 Guild Ball event. As I’ve been going on about it for the last few weeks I’m sure you are all aware of it but as quick re-cap it was a 120 person event organised by Guild Ball Informer. To say that I was nervous would be a bit understatement but it turned out to be a really good event. If you were following along on twitter last week you already know how well things went for me, but for those who don’t know it went something like this.…
