Weekly Waffle #133
For his weeks weekly waffle I’ve been in deepest darkest Wales trying to avoid being eaten by dragons so I’ve not had any time to get any fresh hobby in so I’ve gone with another retrospective edition of the Waffle. I had someone asking this week if I had considered selling any of my Orks as they haven’t seen the light of day in quite some time. But I do still love them so there is no way I am going to part with them but it did give me a good excuse to share a few more of the them with you. Particularly I wanted to share some of…
Weekly Waffle #130
It’s been a bit of mixed up week this week for the weekly waffle and I’ve put the white dwarf to one side and instead gone down a dystopian route. To be precise I’ve gone down a French dystopian route with my French fleet arriving. Now I’ve found that it’s not easy to get any painting done in a hotel room cleaning and building up models is another thing altogether. That meant that I manged to get everything prepped and ready for painting whilst I was away. Then with two nights at home I’ve had a bit of time to get the airbrush out to make a really good start…
Weekly Waffle #129
This weeks weekly waffle is back to a more normal update this with a bit of hobby time spent working on the 40th anniversary model of the White Dwarf himself. With it being a single model it’s meant I could take a few bits and pieces way with me and get some work done whilst on the road. I’ve managed to get quite a bit done this way but I’ve still not got it finished. It’s nice and characterful and I have manged to get quite a bit done and will crack on with it again next week. One thing that took me by surprise was the fact that…
Weekly Waffle #128
So with me being away for the last two weeks now I’ve not had any time for any hobby at all this week but I still wanted to bring you what I hope is a bit of light hearted reading on this Saturdays weekly waffle. My solution has been to take a few pictures of some of my 40k orks and have a bit of nostalgia trip but to also explain how these creations came into being. As I’ve said before it’s the fluff of 40k that has always attracted me and it’s that fluff that is responsible for the odd ball creations. But before I get to the models…
Weekly Waffle #127
No gaming for this weeks weekly waffle and no real hobby time. The only thing I’ve had chance to build has been some new desk top storage curtesy of Hobby Zone. I’ve already got a few drawers and a display / storage case so when I was having a bit of reshuffle and clearing out some old paints I decided to pick up a few more pieces. If anyone out there is looking for a modular storage solution I can highly recommend them as the ones I’ve had to date have served me well hence me going out to buy some more. I’ll get a few pictures of them…
Weekly Waffle #126
Well were to start for this weeks weekly waffle it’s been another manic week with work and my schedule for next week looks even worse. I just keep reminding myself that I only need to keep things together for another nine weeks and then the pressure starts to lift off. Still busy but not manic, or at least that’s what I’m hoping. So for this week I’ve taken a bit of side step into the world of Age of Sigmar and more specifically the Armies of Order. Whilst on my travels with a bit of time to kill between trains I popped up to the Games Workshop store in Preston…
Weekly Waffle #124
This week’s weekly waffle hasn’t been quite as mad as the last few but I’ve still not managed to get any gaming in. But what I have done is to dig out an old project and make some good progress with it. Inspired by painting up and basing my Russian battle ship I’ve kept things in the world of Dystopian wars and I’ve gone east. I picked up an Ottoman Empire box set a couple of years ago and worked out how I wanted to paint them but never got passed the first test piece. Mainly because I came up with an unbelievably fiddly process but having done one I…
Weekly Waffle #123
Well it’s been a really bad week this week for hobby this weeks weekly waffle. I’ve had family over from France so I’ve been playing nice and spending time with them, which in fairness has been nice and then away again all week. So the only thing I’ve really managed to get done this week is to green stuff some base inserts. I need these for the fishermen I’ve been working on and for a couple of other things that I’ve done but not got round to basing. But in keep with how manic things have been I’ve not even had time to take any pictures, not that green stuff…
Weekly Waffle #122
I haven’t been able to get as much done for this week’s weekly waffle as I did last week but I’m still really happy with what I’ve achieved. No gaming due to Al being on his jollies and me working in Walsall. Looks like I get all the exotic locations. Anyway after getting quite a bit done on the fisher men last week I’ve kept the nautical them but switched scales. After showing you the new Pakhtusov Battleship last week I couldn’t resist making a start on it with a new colour scheme. My take on this is that it’s part of the Russian Coalition Northern Fleet which explains why…
Weekly Waffle #121
This week’s weekly waffle saw a return to my nomadic life style so no chance to get any gaming in but having said that it’s been a reasonably productive hobby week and the post man has delivered a few surprises. It’s always nice when you pre-order something and then forget all about it until it turns up on your door step. So first up this week are the images that I couldn’t get uploaded last week, technical issues now resolve. As I mentioned last week I had ordered the first of the modular ships for my Dystopian Wars Russian Coalition force but hadn’t really paid any attention to the fact…
