  • Weekly Waffle #242

A slow but enjoyable week this week. It started, or more accurately last week ended, with our first D&D session for what feels like an age. Things were a bit slow to start with whilst we were getting back in to the groove and having lost two characters last time out there were a couple of new characters to be introduced to the party. Things started quite well for use with a clear objective in front of us and our decision making was made simple because we were up against a hard deadline so had to keep things moving. With our goal in site we encountered something like the scarabs…

  • Weekly Waffle #241

It seems like I’ve done quite a lot apologising of late and I’m going to start this week with another for not doing any updates for a few weeks. As I mentioned previously I’ve had a real loss of mojo of late and just haven’t got anything done but I don’t think I’d realised just how much other things that were going on outside of the hobby were impacting on me. So here we go with a bit of waffle. We have had a bit of reorganisation at work which I had touched on before and as part of this my job was regraded which essentially meant I had to…

  • Weekly Waffle #238

I’ve had a bit of a break this week to try and recharge my batteries ahead of a final push to finish off the Warlord in a few weeks so it’s quite a short weekly waffle. It’s also seen something of gauntlet thrown down whilst I was out with Pete for a few beers over the weekend but I’ll get to that in a little while. First up this week I’ve got a gaming update for you. Yes, I know it’s something of rare thing for me to actually get a game in, unless it’s been a D&D session. But following the taster session we had playing Black Stone Fortress…

  • Weekly Waffle #237

It’s only going to be a short weekly waffle today as I’ve been mad busy at work this week. As I mentioned last week are advertising lots of jobs at work which has meant that for most of the week I’ve either been helping my team write up their applications or shortlisting other applications. Not a hard job but very time consuming and I have to say at times absolutely soul destroying. It’s become a joy now when I get a good one. Now all of this has really impacted on my hobby time and it’s also meant that I’ve not actually finished my application and the window closes tomorrow…

  • Weekly Waffle #236

I missed game night this week and I’m gutted as the plan was to start a Black Stone Fortress campaign. Having said that it’s not the end of the world as there still chances to get involved but it would have been nice to be there from the start. So instead of having fun and playing games I was having to write a personal statement and job application as we are having a restructure at work and I need to go through the process of applying for my own job. So I was stressing out trying to get things completed but it’s not all bad as I’ve now got the…

  • Reaver Titan

    Weekly Waffle #235

It’s been an interesting week this week and I can say that for this weeks weekly waffle at least the mojo seems to have returned. But before I get onto that I’m going to start with a gaming update as that was how I rounded off the end of las week. We had a really good D&D session on Sunday were we all seemed to be back on track with a nice clear or not to murky goal along with nice simple time line. We managed some a couple of days of uneventful travel before reaching our first objective so things were looking good. But we should have known that…

  • Weekly Waffle #234

Gamming for this weeks weekly waffle has been limited to a bit of disrupted but very enjoyable D&D session. No one got killed, a first for us in quite a while, we made a bit of money, spent a bit of money and have now set our path firmly on a new quest that will probably see our DM do all she can to kill us. So whilst we did allow ourselves to become a little bit distracted whilst some members of the part were doing their own little things in town in the end we have ended up back focused on a common mission. We even have something of…

  • Weekly Waffle #233

Well it’s been a good hobby week this week, I’ve had lots of travel for work but what hobby I have had has been really good which has given me lots to share in this weeks weekly waffle Plus, there’s more to follow before the weekend is over. Game night was the first time I’ve been along in while and what a good night it was. First of all it was really nice and cool in the cellar so it was an escape from this heat wave we have here at the moment. Now I know some places are much hotter then here year round but for some of us…

  • Weekly Waffle #231

Things have calmed down a bit this week and I’ve had what I think is quite a good hobby week which I hope in turn give you a good weekly waffle. Although when it came to actually writing up what I’d been up to my fingers have not been dancing over the keyboard. It’s been like typing on a keyboard covered in molasses but the brush has flowed a little easier. I’ve been concentrating on the Warlord Titan with the legs now on the base and I think they are looking ok. They still need the weathering and they will also end up with a mat finish for most of…

  • Weekly Waffle #230

I’ve only got a token update for you this weeks weekly waffle as my mum hasn’t been to well so I’ve not had any hobby time for most of the week. Now the week did start quite well and I was back working on the Titan. I have to say that I think I had blanked out just how much work there is just in painting the armour trim. Or at least there is the way I do it. To get to this stage I’ve had to add base colour of copper which actually takes a couple of coats as it is going over the top of turquoise main colour.…
