Weekly Waffle #292
This will be the last update before Adepticon so needs to have some packing and prep elements.
Weekly Waffle #291
I’ve been sticking with the Iyandan for this week and I’ve made some good progress on the WraithBlades and the Psychers, but I have also taken the time to get some wo l rk in progress pictures along the way. Some of these will help me if I do decide to paint up any more units in the future. If I remember to get enough I may even get around to writing a new painting guide, which is something that I haven’t don for quire some time now. As I have no idea how the different weapons work in game terms i decided to magnetise the arms so that I…
Weekly Waffle #290
Review of my Iyandan units so far.
Weekly Waffle #289
It’s been some time since my last update, in fact I think it’s the longest break I have had from the site since I started. Over the last couple of months my mojo has just dropped off a cliff face and I haven’t even picked up a brush, let alone put paint on it and got it anywhere need a model. Can’t really say why this is but I think like a lot of people the sheer monotony of the last year has just caught up with me and I just haven’t had the motivation to do anything. It’s a selfish way to be considering a lot of people have…
Weekly Waffle #288
It had to happen and this week seems to be the week. Somewhat cryptic I know but this week has been the first week when I seem to have lost my mojo but I really don’t know why. The weather hasn’t been too bad, work hasn’t been overly demanding and life at home is plodding along with no major issue so I’m not sure why I haven’t had any mojo this week. I have been really fired up to get started on the Dystopian Wars stuff but every time I’ve looked at them I’ve kind of frozen. My thinking is that because I don’t have clearly defined colour scheme for…
Weekly Waffle #287
I’m going to start off this week with an apology for anyone who was hoping to see some Dystopian Wars minis with some paint on them. That was my plan for this week but things have taken a bit of swerve on the hobby front. I had been tidying up my workspace which doubles up as my workspace at the moment, but that resulted in me moving the Dystopian Wars box and uncovering some other prepped miniatures. That mixed in with me finally catching up on the Expanse has meant the Dystopian Wars minis haven’t been touch so I’m sorry for that but it does give you something to look…
Weekly Waffle #286
It’s been something of a weird week so far and whilst I have quite a full update for you I haven’t done any painting at all. That’s not to say I haven’t managed to get in a reasonable amount of hobby time, just that none of it has involved a paint brush. But it has involved quite a lot of prep work so that I should be able to start on some painting next week. I could have broken things down a little and done less prep but got started with some painting but I just felt that it would be better in the long run if I did all…
Weekly Waffle #285
It’s been back to the grim dark future for me this week, in more ways than one, and I’ve managed to keep the painting up for a whole two months. Ok I know that’s not such a great deal and the actual volume is very low but I’m considering it a win. I’ve managed to turn out quite a variety of different minis, I’ve been happy with all of them and most importantly I’ve actually enjoyed working on them. Which at the end of the day is what this is all about, or at least it is for me. Now before I show you what I’ve been working on this…
Weekly Waffle #284
Things have slowed down somewhat this week, but it’s been a time management issue rather than a loss of mojo. It seems to happen more and more at the moment but it’s been a really busy week at work with lots of late nights doing testing. The result has been I’ve only had a couple of hours of hobby time over the whole week which I’ve spent on something a bit different, or at least different for this week. I’ve given you some near future, post-apocalyptic, some Renascence fantasy and this week I’m going to give you a taste of the grim dark future, so prizes for guessing where I’m…
Weekly Waffle #283
This week I’ve had two hobby projects on the go and with the start of the Six Nations rugby again last weekend my hobby time has been reduced a little bit. For me it’s been a welcome fix of live international rugby which invariably involves drinking beer, in this instance a selection from Tiny Rebel. Especially given England’s performance. The result of this is that last weekend wasn’t the most productive on the hobby front. But it doesn’t mean that the rest of the week hasn’t been productive. For your delectation this week I have been back to Renascence Europe, specifically Venice for a bit of action. I’ve had my…
