So with all the excitement of last week now over its back to normal for this week. With Al back off his jollies game night was back on and Pete brought along Kill Team for us to have a look at. We didn’t actually get chance to have a game as until Pete showed us the rules we didn’t know what we would need. But we have arranged for a few games next week. Pete is going to write up a number of what we hope are balanced lists and we will the randomly pick a list to use. We have more than enough models for whatever lists he makes up so that’s something to look forward to next week.
A bonus of this is that Pete is actually going to paint up a new kill team. Now that might not sound like much but for the man who has really lost his mojo an not touched a model in a long time it’s a big move. No pressure as to when he needs to finish as long as he starts. It’s also got me and Al thinking about painting something up just for this. Al is currently swaying towards a Mechanicus / Skitarii force and I’m looking at an imperial guard, sorry Astra Militarum force, or more specifically some Militarum Tempestus. My thinking is that with the Imperial Agents codex coming out this weekend they may form part of a retinue for an Inquisitor Then this force could be added to my existing Deathwatch as the core of something new but all centred around the idea of some kick ass, alien hunting Inquisitor.
On the hobby front it’s been more of the same this week with me finally finishing off the first half the Kill Team Casius box set and getting stuck into the next half. I can’t explain why but even though I’ve been working on these, and enjoying the time I don’t seem to have got much done. No real excuses this week as I’ve been home every night this week just haven’t been very productive.
For the second half of the team I’ve started to add some bits of colour a little bit like I’m making more progress as opposed to just concentrating on the black, that seems to take forever.
Now as I mentioned earlier on game night we were looking at what teams we might want to put together and one of the ones that I really like the idea of is the Militarum Tempestus. My main reason for liking these guys is simply that I like how the look. But the other reason is that with the release of Imperial Agents today I could see an Inquisitor using these guys as part of the their retinue. With that in mind I thought I could do with the idea of read armour and black clothing which keeps two of the main colours used in my Deathwatch but swapped around. So it came as no surprise that I happened to find myself in a GW store this week and somehow came out with a box of Militarum Tempestus. What is probably more of surprise is that I’ve actually manged to paint up two test models. Or at least I’ve nearly finished painting them but I think you can get the idea from these.
