We are on our way.
Now then I’ve tried to be clever and I’ve held off publishing this update until we are about to board our flight to Chicago. Our day started at 02:30 (GMT) this morning so that we could be at the airport and checked in for just after 04:00 which was two hours before our flight was scheduled to leave, which is something of a joke but there have been some major delays at Manchester with them not having enough staff on security. My boss missed a flight two weeks ago because of the time it took to get through security and we didn’t want to end up in the same situation. Our first flight left Manchester at 06:05 and landed in Paris at 07:35 (or 08:35 local). We have then had a four and a bit hour wait for Chicago flight which we are about to board now.
So as things stand we were up at 02:30 and in my head at least it is now 12:10 so we have been up just shy of ten hours so far. The flight to Chicago is scheduled for nine hours fifteen minutes which means we will be landing at 16:25 local, which my head will think is 22:25. So by the time we land we will have been up for about twenty hours so I’m not sure what sort of state I will be in by then but the next update could be interesting.
